Some serious deckchair shuffling going on. Yesterday after hours saw a 3.8% stake changing hands @ 28.25p; followed by a 1.8% stake put-through.

Could be time to average down .....again!!

Have any of you experienced hedge funds being market neutral with the same stock? I.e. long the ords and short CFD too?

If so would it show up on an RNS in the way you would expect (i.e. net) or just as a total that they have an interest in without specifing wether that interest is short or long?

For an example look at the Weiss holdings RNS for BRNE.

Tilts - bidding 28.25p? But you could have scooped up 2.3m @ 28p a couple of days ago!

No announcement yet as to who took that 1.6% on Tuesday. Could be a new name, so no announcement; but Weiss still have my vote. Any ideas?

Tiltonboy, LOL! Sorry, yes that could have been me, but don't worry I got a zero fill! I should, of course, have sat politely in the queue rather than pushing the bid up (although the offer was north of 30p at the time).

I certainly won't be bidding it up aggressively as the more times my bid fails to get filled (luckily so far) the cheaper it seems to get on the days when I am looking the other way!

There isn't that much selling here. I was sitting on the bid most of the day (not for the first time) without a fill.

If its only the share price market being moody, who cares?, back to the Calvados....but if its mirroring the NAV and some hitherto unidentified value distruction taking place then agreed ouch...

Yes thnx, very nice lunch with good friends nearby who have a second home out here. She is an excellent cook; and he likes his wines. A good combination. Bizarre thing was that we had an apero out on the terrace basking in the sun at a temp of 20C - that's 69F in old money...not normal November weather, even down here!

lol....well not quite sell everything...i pretty am much fully invested on my sipp account..spread across bonds..SL plays and a bit of hot money..with cash earning zilch i don't think it pays to keep too much of it..i'd keep my investment in illiquid stuff fairly low % wise

Know what you mean, 'gut' feel says sell everything, stay on the side lines in cash and pick up the real bargains.

Or just lunch with your friends in a French restaurant eating Steak Au'Poivre with fries and sipping Calvados!

Ah - I see the late trades suggest a 1.6% stake changed hands @ 28p. I guess We'll soon see who bought them - Weiss perhaps.

Anyway - that should clear the decks. I anticipate a recovery back to the 35p level over the next couple of weeks.

Hi Skyship yep I'm down 38% not ideal. My allocation is/was 1.5% at entry value.

I'm going to hold on.

If you dont mind me asking what % did you have allocated and what have you reduced it to?

Just got in after lunch out with friends. Look down my monitor, see a good rise in MCKS ahead of tomorrow's Interims, scroll further down - and..........TEIF @ 30p!!!

Reduced my allocation here in view of the Euro concerns, but even so the MCKS gain wiped out by the TEIF loss.

Chart had been looking dire and 30p beckoned....but never supposed it could really happen. Now what I wonder.

TEIF have given up some profits in their key area of excellence (FX gains!). Given the expensive debt, occupancy is critical and they need to do better there. Otherwise very little to say.

"Occupancy by area as at 30 September 2011 decreased by 1.56% to 80.55% and by 1.29% to 86.00% by ERV. Tenants retained in the period represented 4.30% of the Fund's gross income (14,131 sqm). Total new leases signed during the period represented 1.67% of the Fund's gross income (7,442 sqm of total area) and total tenants vacating represented 3.00% of the Fund's gross income (12,423 sqm)."

Beet me to it thanks Sleepy:) and Weiss first RNS was in June.

Skyship: thinking aloud on our allocation discussion: I wonder which a PI should give more credence/weight to,
a) a fund committing a large % of its capital
b) or the % of a company it buys
c) or neither i.e. just look at fundamental?

Weiss declared just over 10% in August

Praipus - they are of course unable to commit more without launching a General Offer.

Did we decide that Weiss are still in here after all. If they are then I'm surprised they aren't increasing.
