Does this imply Lannex is on line??? It says all 5 plants. If so I would have expected the figures to be better???

Any thoughts??

Sylvania Resources Limited ('Sylvania' or the 'Company') SX, AIM: SLV

SYLVANIA ACHIEVES ALL-TIME HIGH QUARTERLY PLATINUM OUNCE PRODUCTION

In keeping with the strategy of continuous growth, Sylvania is pleased to announce an all-time record high production volume of 8,621 oz achieved in the quarter to 30 September 2010. This exceeds the management targeted production of 8,000 oz previously announced and supports the annual outlook of 40,000 oz for the 2011 calendar year.

Sylvania is also pleased to announce that during the quarter to 30 September 2010 no lost time injuries were recorded, maintaining our excellent safety record.

"Sylvania's excellent performance comes from improvements at all 5 operating plants which we expect to see continue into the future as our production ramp up gathers momentum" deputy CEO Nigel Trevarthen said in a statement.

Sylvania has continued its study work of the new Volspruit Mine and is expected to apply for the mining right in the next 3 months. In addition, exploration work and analysis has been yielding encouraging results from the Aurora sites to the north.

Sylvania expects to announce its full quarterly results for the period ended 30 September 2010 on or before 29 October 2010.

Fraser,

Yes I tend to be in the red too. But alas it is always great when your thesis is picked up by the media and followed by resource/company catalyst.

Check out the history of AUIRON (AUY:ASX)/FELIX RESOURCES (FLX:ASX) that eventually got taken over by YZC:US. I was in the red for several years as I held AUY/FLX.

Contrarian2Investor, a nice common-sense approach. The market rarely sees value in comparison to when the investor does, that's why I spend a good percentage of my investment time in loss lol...Such is life! ATB Fraser

I'll be patient, no worries there. Whether it is 6 months or 5 years. SLV will prove to be a great investment around these levels. Those that are unable to not micro-manage will just have to find other profitable opportunities. I will make further purchases if SLV retreats below 45p.

nice looking short term uptrend chart and share price pulled back on low volume . BUT , these spec stocks need careful monitoring and it is a MM stock which makes trading it much harder of course !

The excitement with the share price seems to be in inverse proportion to the corporate activity and intriguing possibilities suggested on this thread.

JOHANNESBURG (Dow Jones)--Impala Platinum Holdings Ltd. (IMP.JO), the world's second-largest producer of the metal, said Monday unspecified negotiations have been terminated.
The company on Sept. 30 said it had entered discussions regarding a possible transaction, but offered no further details. Earlier that day Royal Bafokeng Platinum Ltd., a mining company owned by a 300,000-strong community in a platinum-rich area of South Africa, said it had received from an unnamed suitor an unsolicited offer for a key mine it owns with Anglo Platinum Ltd. (AMS.JO).
Royal Bafokeng at the time said it was putting on hold plans to list on the Johannesburg stock exchange in the final quarter of 2010 to give its board of directors time to evaluate the offer for the Bafokeng Rasimone mine.
Angloplat is the world's biggest platinum producer.

key to investor sanity is to avoid 'what might have been'
Stay focused on your decisions as it's the only way, 'might have beens' will drive you nuts!
Anyway, its been a healthy week for Sylvania and it could continue for a while longer.
The very long for those of us strong enough not to cash our chips in is even better imo.

Thanks for the kind comments guys!--i will be going into WH Smith tomorrow morning and will have a look at the SLV article!--we all live with patience and hope when it comes to being stuck in a share which has not performed the way we had originally thought!-Only wished i had had the courage to sell them earlier this year in march and switched into another share which i tipped to a good friend of mine--on my advice he bought 10,000 Rockhopper at 39p !!!--he has since bgt another 11,000 at £1.25 and still holds 21,000 at current price of @£4.30 per share!!--such is life!!--hopefully we shall see higher levels in SLV before too long but I guess not as high as £4 + !!!--
