19/10/2015 15:22 | I assume that delisting would effectively mean one was locked in until either the company recovered sufficiently for a re-listing, or until a trade sale, or until the company folded. Delisting is not the same as a takeover. Anyone who holds a lot of shares is effectively locked in anyhow, even with a listing. I was quite surprised to be able to sell 450,000 shares at only .125p below the bid price on the day of the announcement that Chris had resigned. Could be I could sell because Zak Mir (I believe) tipped them some time before 12th. Or could just be that someone thinks it is worth bidding for. Don't hold your breath! | gnnmartin
19/10/2015 12:49 | Can I ask you GNN are you saying you are prepared to write off your 1.1m or are you thinking that any delisting process will result in us getting a nominal value say 1p for our shares ? | leadingladies
19/10/2015 12:08 | In my view delisting was sensible. A listing costs money, and brings no benefit to a company in SUN's position. It's impossible to place shares at a sensible price when the market is setting such a low benchmark. I'm very sorry to have lost Chris. I sold 450,000 on the news. I'll keep my remaining 1.1m, but I'm pessimistic now. | gnnmartin
19/10/2015 06:19 | Thanks buywell for your comments which I think are spot on. Any thoughts as to whether SUN are in danger of breaching their covenants with the bank? If so then that would sink them and Chris Rea (albeit losing his "stake" value) could then pick them up for peanuts. I do reiterate the fact however that in his interview with the Yorkshire Post (the bit missing from the online article)he was full of praise for the company and its staff etc. Which you would have thought would spark an interest from other parties. | leadingladies
18/10/2015 23:49 | I was thinking this might de-list a few months back Getz and Rea's stakes give them a springboard to take it over at some point when they think the price is right The recent resignations are hurting and that was to be expected by those who resigned. I reckon the recent lift in share price probably did not help their ambitions to get the company on the cheap I still think Rea sees a use for SUN that has not been discussed in public The SUN BOD might have made the correct choice for now , but holders will have to see who is brought in as CEO as that will will be key going forward Another new product deal with perhaps AMS might garner some interest The last one should now be starting to add to revenues | buywell3
18/10/2015 12:21 | Link to Yorkshire Post article albeit this is a very diluted version of what appeared in the paper which in fairness to Chris Rea sang the plaudits of the company as being fantastic with an extremely talented and dedicated workforce. If I manage to locate the full version I will post it. hxxp://www.yorkshire | leadingladies
17/10/2015 16:01 | Don't think far fetched at all. The extremely galling thing here is that he will probably end up ultimatly making millions out of this leaving "ordinary" shareholders with nothing having waited for so many years for this to come good and having been well and truly sha--ed by poor decision making over the past couple of years. | leadingladies
17/10/2015 15:36 | Looks to me that CR has been well and truely stuffed - I beliee that under the AIM regulations he cannot make an offer for the company at less than the price he last paid for shares untill 12 months has elapsed. Can anyone double check me on this. He has therefore (imo) taken a very sensible decision to walk away from a bad investment and might possibly come back either on his own or in combination with Getz after 17th Nov with a "get out of jail" or "recover a miniscule amount of your dead investment" with a t/o offer or tender offer sufficient to give him enough of the equity to delist. Or is this too far fetched ? | pugugly
17/10/2015 13:23 | Big article in Yorkshire Post today focusing on Chris Rea who makes it clear the reason for him leaving was due to differences with the rest of the board over the company staying public. Resigned due to conflict of interest. Give him his dues says he has the finance and time to complete the recovery but only if taken private. On the +ve side he clearly sees huge potential which may generate interest from other investors. On the -ve side who will now finance if stays as a plc. I will post link to article once I get home on the pc. I summise Mr Rea will sit on the sidelines and watch for the next few months as Doug either pulls off a master stroke or sinks it!! | leadingladies
16/10/2015 09:41 | Thought yesterday's announcement would have stirred a bit more interest on the board. Are we all pummelled into submission on this one believing the value of what we have invested is too little now to get stressed over ? Chris Rea as I understand things still is the majority shareholder. I would have thought he'd want to stick around a bit longer ? As a major shareholder (not on the board) can he now have a better voice e.g. lobby for Mr Liversedge to step aside ? | leadingladies
15/10/2015 18:12 | Leading - I cant pretend that the news is anything other than very disappointing. Just looking for any crumbs of comfort. I fear a mark down from the market in the morning. It was all looking so rosy a couple of years or so ago. How things have changed. Still, SUN still trading and 'stable' so maybe now off life support. Fingers crossed for the future. | argyle underclap
15/10/2015 17:59 | I wish I could read as much optimism into the news as you Argle. As worrying as Chris Rea's news is that of Melanie throwing in the towel. Having met her at the agm I thought she was extremely switched on and under the stewardship of Chris would turn out to be a great ambassador for the company. Let's see how the market reacts tomorrow! | leadingladies
15/10/2015 17:34 | Yikes. positive that the co say they are looking to make appointments. Leads one to believe this is not being wound up. Talk of the stabilization of the company. Hopefully now off life support, and ready for a new energetic leader to lead the recovery. Hopefully. | argyle underclap
15/10/2015 16:46 | No good asking Doug all he does is agree with everything that come to pass and keeps taking the monthly cheque ! | gbh2
15/10/2015 16:26 | What are these guys playing at? | mandate
14/10/2015 22:13 | I wonder if Mr Rea has plans for SUN to make product/s for his main engineering company ? ''AESSEAL is the world’s fourth-largest designer and manufacturer of mechanical seals for a wide range of industries, including oil and gas, food, water, mining and pharmaceuticals. Around 90 per cent of its sales come from overseas.'' | buywell3
12/10/2015 11:54 | SUN slated in tW webcast on sunday at share prophets - Nothing new (imo) that has not been mentioned many times on this board but possibly worth a listen. Declaration I do not hold but was previously on watch list. | pugugly
10/10/2015 08:38 | more to the point buywell, are you buying in? | mandate
10/10/2015 07:45 | Does seem as though Rea is bringing on back the good times. | john148
09/10/2015 22:30 | 700k shares traded and the share price rises SUN shines on the advfn leaders board Are you buying back in gbh2 ? | buywell3
30/9/2015 10:11 | Agree with your sentiment gnn but not surprising and it endorses what Chris Rea said at the agm. I draw comfort from the word "stability" which is a start but we need to be getting some feedback on future prospects and sales before we can rest a bit easier. | leadingladies
30/9/2015 07:14 | Fairly dire results, but I am hopeful the patient will survive, and might even walk again. In particular I was pleased by: "the Company is now in a stable situation and has a much reduced cost base. We are now moving into the second phase of the recovery and, whilst still keeping tight control on costs we have recommenced product development." and "2015 is showing some signs of improvement (though) the outlook remains challenging, particularly in respect of profitability and we expect that the full benefits of the actions of the past twelve months will not be felt until 2017" | gnnmartin
17/9/2015 08:27 | So r u now out of SUN gbh2 ? r the results also out this week ? To gnnmartin You are one of the most reasonable posters here Re the latest RNS and the £100k loss for the current year It would not surprise me to see SUN do better , as they could NOT afford to go worse than £100k ie that is a worse case scenario So you might even see a SUN profit Those who have sold might have made a boo boo (for now anyway) The chart is now looking a bit better , is this my 1st +ve SUN comment ? I think it might be .... but I do NOT go V charts because a company share price chart is the market view of that company's prospects. Without doubt the addition of Chris Rea and the departure of the olde CEO and FD have been positives. The BOD and Getz have been buyers at these lower prices The other RNS re sales in the East with Getz Bros also looks a positive thus I can't take a negative stance till the chart says otherwise. Recent red resistance levels are shown chartwise , the blue is support free stock charts from uk.advfn.com So don't get excited till and if the share price gets back above 2.25p | buywell3
12/9/2015 08:13 | Thanks Argyle, I had a good run with SUN so no complaints; hope you get out with a decent profit one day, wish you well :)) | gbh2
11/9/2015 22:55 | gbh - good luck, hopefully Sun will rise again | argyle underclap |
