OK - John Gannon - Development Director - ex MD of Terraquest.

Interesting to see insiders increasing their stake

Considering info about the potential offer was not public domain at the time of his purchase - is this not insider dealing? Of course it could be entirely coincidental ;)

-------------------------------------------

By my estimate...Romac have spent approximately £10.5m buying their 30% stake in SOR for an average price of approx 42p. My guess is that their initial proposal was at a takeover price of 30p...to "safeguard their investment" - giving a value of approx £25m to the business (including their existing £10.5m investment) . A counter offer of 40p by the third party would have been below par value for Romac and hence they rejected it. My guess is that they will up their bid to match the 40p offer.

John Gannon in the mean time has been filling his boots - presumably with proceeds from the sale of TerraQuest to SOR. Seeing as he is Development Director - he must be in a key position to see the lie of the land and no doubt has good cause to be optimistic.

Looks to me like the price of a recovery is still not factored into the price...let alone the value ascribed to the business by Romac. Figures are imminent that could well underpin such a recovery and give cause for a rerating by institutional investors.

Hi Tonester.
Reported CSH to AIM a couple of weeks ago - no longer a holder!

Yes have been a holder in SOR since late 04 when I noticed that Peter Webb at Unicorn was an investor.
Bought between 44 and 50p.
Not sure I like the move away from the social service side but RPS seem to do OK
What do you know about BAY?

I'm a bit bearish on this as I had reason to do some due diligence on the Parys Snowdon group about 12 months before SOR took them over. I have to say that based on that, i think SOR paid hugely over the odds for Parys Snowdon, which was a raggle taggle group of companies, none of which were doing particularly well.

I'd be much more bullish if SOR sold off the underperforming bits it bought, and concentrated on the juicy bits. That combined with the other SOR core business might make it a more appealing prospect than it is right now.

I do apologise, Gentlemen. I started a new strand for Supporta but would gladly relinquish it in favor of this one.
Sir J is right....and this suprises me with all the other Mears Investors in that they seem content to follow Mears but s/b following Holt. If they do, they will find two other companies - Supporta being one of them and Sir J is right when he says that Holt has taken a back seat on this one BUT purely because the current folk running it are more than competent. As I have indicated on the other strand, the firmness of price in SOR is some indication that summats brewing. The other is Wyatt and this one could be even more interesting in that NO LESS THAN THREE Mears Directors appear on its Board. It just has put the drug detection deal under its belt there are indications of other fish to fry. None of the 'smaller Holt's' have really shown their paces, yet but at Mears there is a new CEO in place and, seemningly, he has fitted in right well. Which should leave Mr Holt with some time to devote the other parts of the 'stable'

A 'new broom' is supposed to sweep clean...but, in this case is polishing SOR to be the little gem that it always should have been. There is a LOT of steam in this one.

Lots happening at SOR today new advisor, interims, disposal:
In addition, we have announced today the sale of four of our general recruitment
businesses, Sarah Harvey (Birmingham), Sarah Harvey (Leamington), Transcend
Recruitment and Rovira Personnel, to Venturestaff UK Limited for a total
consideration of #640,000 plus an earn-out payable in respect of their results
for the year ended 31 March 2006. Full details of the disposals are included in
a separate Announcement issued today. Operating profits of #22,000 on turnover

Any chance company is lining itself up as a bid target?

heaven - 1 for 1.
However, there is no connection with 'Sports & Outdoor' etc. Epic SOR was re-used. We should really be on the other (not very informative) thread. Read this for further information.

SOR not the company it was. Epic seems to have been reborn out of Staffing Ventures.

SOR - Horrible "steppy" chart, always difficult to analyse. Basic trend is up but present correction dating from last September is still in force. Price needs to pass about 120p to break trend. very solid support at 80p. FWY - very strong uptrend with a pennant forming. These patterns are fairly reliable so a breakout above 274 has a target of about 340p. Sorry just got orders to go and eat supper. RTO later. dcb
