SC. sold down to these low levels but with that positive trading statement they should bounce from here and it could be quite swift!!

Supercart. The best thing is that this is one of Hatetraders stocks, but he used to be ramping it at 20pish and now you can buy at 2.5p level. LOL.

In for some SC. for the innevitable bounce!

Yep does look cheap now. This could be a strong bounce now. At 20p it was overvalued at 2.5p its seriously cheap now given these numbers and the increase in sales and profits.

Masureguy ... Still £4.2k no one like to loose money, especially in these financially uncertain times, we'll have to wait and see if it was a good investment.

Another all time low and the first ever sub 2p close !

At a market cap of just under £2.8m - 148,150,000 shares in issue - the company is worth less than the combined value of its last two placings in June 2009 & November 2010. Probably due their annual placing soon since they haven't had one yet this year. Four of their last five placings have been in November so that must be the most likely timeframe for this year !

I seem to recall similarly positive forward statements each of the past 5 years?

Trust in management is non existent due to a continual lack of ability to deliver on vague promises.

5UCHCHI - I agree ! I also came to a similar conclusion on this subject over a year ago.

Masurenguy - 30 Jul'10 - 494: I cannot really see any sense in them maintaining the cost of a public listing. If the same "main shareholders" are prepared to provide further funding, they might consider combining this with a simultaneous delisting as the annual cost of maintaing an AIM listing is circa £200,000 per annum. It looks to me as though the most likely options here are:
a) No further funding can be raised and the company goes into administration
b) Existing shareholders fund a low priced MBO (sub 1p a share?) and refinance the business as a privately held company with the longer term exit strategy of a trade sale if profitability can ever be achieved.
IMV, whatever the outcome, I find it hard to see a future return here for PI shareholders !

Majority share holder might make an offer and take this company private cheaply. As per TRADING STATEMENT business is picking up considerably where as share price is not appreciated by the market accordingly.Do your own research(dyor)but in my opinion it is likely to happen soon rather than later.

Personally it would be wise to be prudent, I will wait and see what these other orders are and by who, this company could have legs though even from here.

Unfortunately the directors always seem to have their snouts in the trough before any shareholder see anything.

I knew there was somebody out there, it just took an RNS to wake them up.

I really wouldn't get too excited if I were you and so far this company has never made any profit which could be increased either ! If sales were up by by 21.2% in calender 2010 then they should be in the range of £8.9m. It is worth remembering that gross margins in 2009 were just 11.5% compared with total administrative costs of 38.3%, hence their loss of £2.3m.

There is no references to any margin improvement or overhead reduction in the trading statement today but lets just assume that gross margins have reverted back to around 18%, which is close to their average historic level prior to last year. On sales of £8.9m that would produce a gross profit of circa £1.6m. Last years admin costs were £2.1m and finance costs were a further £200k. If costs were just held flat without any increase then the loss for calender 2010 would still be at least £700,000. If their gross margin remains the same as last year then the loss would then be circa £1.4m.

Without increasing gross margins to circa 25% I just cannot see a viable business model here. Nothing much has changed to alter the view that I previously expressed on this thread 21 months ago.

Also bear in mind that this company has posted cumulative losses of £6.4m over the preceeding 6 years. They have only remained in business by raising £11.9m in 6 separate placings since they first listed on AIM more than 7 years ago. Of course everyone should always do their own research and make their own judgement calls on any investment opportunity but a 20% increase in sales will only serve to reduce losses unless they have been able to achieve significant margin improvements and/or overhead reductions.

Decent update.

SUPERCART PLC

("Supercart" or the "Company")

Pre-Close trading update

Supercart (AIM:SC.), the UK company involved in the design, marketing and distribution of plastic shopping trolleys, is pleased to provide an update to trading for the 18 months to 31 30 June 2011, ahead of its preliminary announcement of results, following the change of accounting reference date to 30 June, which is expected to be released on Monday 17 October 2011.

As announced previously the 12 months to 31 December 2010 saw a significant increase in trolley sales over the comparable 12 months in 2009 of approximately 17.2 per cent and turnover up by 21.2 per cent over that same period.

The further six month period to 30 June 2011 has seen continued progress, particularly in the important North American market. In what is traditionally the quieter trading period the Company has traded broadly in line with the Board's expectations over this period with sales over the six months to June 2011 showing a further improvement from the GBP2.8m achieved in the six months to June 2010.

Supercart announced on 27 June 2011 that the Company's US subsidiary had received its largest ever single order with a value of over $1.0m, and the Company is now fulfilling this order. The Company is also pleased to announce that it has received a number of further significant orders for its North American operations including for the substantial refurbishment of a fleet of carts for a major international retail chain. As the Company moves into the all important autumn trading period our order book remains strong.

Mike Wolfe, Chief Executive of Supercart, commented, "the Company is continuing to make good progress in the important US market, while our traditional core South African market is also performing well. Progress in Europe has been slower, but we remain confident that in time we shall build a strong market position. Prospects for the current year and beyond look encouraging."
