CS PROJECT UPDATE

Sunrise Resources plc (ticker symbol 'SRES'), the AIM-traded diversified mineral exploration and development company ("the Company"), is pleased to advise the expansion of its CS Project following the discovery of new zones of natural pozzolan and perlite.

-- Reconnaissance sample from a new area named as the Tuff Zone, located 1.7 km southwest of the Main Zone, tests positive for use as natural pozzolan.

-- Follow-up mapping shows that the Tuff Zone extends over 1.2 km and a width of 200m. Additional samples submitted to Magmatics Inc. for variability testing.

-- New areas of perlite also identified, sampled, and submitted for expansion testing.

-- Further 22 Mining Claims staked to cover new targets. Project area now comprises 37 Mining Claims covering 2.9 sq.km.

Commenting today, Executive Chairman Patrick Cheetham said: "The CS Project continues to deliver exciting results. The newly identified Tuff Zone has a significant tonnage potential based on the large surface area mapped so far. New areas of perlite have also been found within the newly staked claims and samples have been submitted for expansion testing. There are good markets for both natural pozzolan and perlite in Nevada and the adjacent state of California. We expect to provide more detailed information on the commercial significance of the positive results we have announced to date when the project development concept study is completed in the next few weeks."

About Natural Pozzolan

Pozzolan is a cementitious material that can partially replace ordinary Portland cement in cement and concrete mixes in amounts up to 35%.

Natural pozzolans, therefore, have strong "green" credentials as the production of Portland cement is responsible for 5% of the global man-made carbon dioxide emissions with nearly one tonne of carbon dioxide (CO(2) ) generated for each tonne of cement produced. Natural pozzolans can also improve the strength and chemical resistance of concrete.

Natural pozzolans can also replace industrial by-product pozzolans such as coal fly ash in cement and concrete mixes. The availability and quality of fly ash is under threat as coal fired power stations are phased out and fly ash quality becomes more variable due to increased emission control legislation.

About Perlite

Perlite is a glassy raw material which, when heated in a furnace, pops like popcorn and expands by up to 20 times in volume into a white or pale coloured, low density material.

Expanded perlite is used in various industrial and household applications such as insulation, paint texturing, building materials, filter aids (in competition with diatomite), insulating industrial cryogenic storage vessels and as a potting medium in gardening and horticulture to aid water retention and aeration of the soil.

Some perlites can also be used as a natural pozzolan.
