The survey work they hope to get starts May (I think) and it is for sulphide deposits, presumably for a marine mining company in the Pacific. At costs of over £3.5m for the last six months I find it difficult to understand how they can make any real money from it. A one ship company has to be like ctrek, an owner driver.
He is also right about the wreck info that appears to be freely available. Finding them is another matter and subsea might have been better hiring a proper survey company to look for Miranda (there is almost a book written about this wreck on a website). Most survey companies can find big wrecks now as they have to survey cable routes in deep water.

The position of Celia was known and if their recovery system is dependant on ROV's which appear to fail then it is not a good system. They had their own ROV why did they not use that. The recovery system appears flawed.

They have lost about £23m and I no longer have any faith in them and also have lost my interest if they are trying to become a survey company.

Best of luck ctrek.

I do this for a living, some of the best wreck data comes from the german u-boat log books, as I said you only have to know where to look and what to look for, Rizden beazley cleared over 80 wrecks in 30 years with no Rovs, my salvage vessel(redeemer)will be out on surveys next month

Location of subsea wrecks has only been made possible with new technology. The locations are not in the public domain.

The first attempt failed due to technical problems with the French ROVs.

If SUB don't do it, somebody will, that's for sure. They get to keep 80 - 90% of whatever is salvaged.

Still think SUB were hoping to win a survey contract:)

There wreck data base is not a secret, if you contact the salvage association ask about wrecks they will give you details, if you want warloss you contact Ministry of Transport, they will give you details
Its the same with Ministry of Defence (salvage section)the same with treasury solicitors,
All this information is around all you have to do is look for it, if you buy the SHIPWRECK INDEX OF THE BRITISH ISLES (RICHARD LARN) they will give you about 20,000 wrecks.
But please remember every ship wrecks cargo was insured by someone, These guys dont own these wrecks on there data base.

They aren't bidding for a contract.

Why pay for access to a wreck when they can follow their standard business plan of using their own wrecks from their own wreck database?
