STV's Q1 IMS has confirmed a strong start to 2014, with airtime revenues expected to be up by 7% for the five months to May. Our full-year estimates are unchanged from those published on 7 March. 2014 is a big year for Scotland (Commonwealth Games, Ryder Cup, referendum) and STV's strong brand is enabling it to capitalise on a favourable advertising backdrop. The share rating remains below the peer group with the 2014e P/E at 10.2x and EV/EBITDA of only 8.0x.

STV is Scotland's leading media brand. It holds the Channel 3 (ITV) commercial television licences for Scotland and creates and distributes programmes across all platforms, including TV, online, mobile and connected devices.

Decent update IMO, let's see how market takes it, but profitable, cash generative and IMO on a modest rating....be interesting to see if brokers upgrade at all...

The recently awarded 10 yr license is valid for any referendum outcome AIUI. If Scotland ended up with own currency you'd have to make up yr own mind on consequences. Personally I don't think even the Scots are daft enough to vote for it anyway ;)

Still holding from 180p; I am not concerned about this stock and look forward to £4 in due course.

Ah ok sorry thought it was results, but as you say may get trading statement...agree re valuation gap looks odd given all the good work management have been doing....IMO!

No results due. AGM is 23rd April and we may get a Q1 trading statement.

P/E of 9 here vs UTV on 17, ITV 15.

If STVG continue to perform well there's clearly potential for good gains from here. In the short I guess share price performance held back by Odey offloading big chunk of their stake. I plan to hold for some time unless there's some change in trading.

Way to early for the trackers but there seems good demand looking at the prints. The question is how many are Odey a seller of they could fill all the tracker buying and more.

Yes, Odey are top-slicing/offloading their huge stake. I note that STVG may well qualify for the FTSE small cap index at the next review so it's just possible trackers are buying ahead of that. Just a guess!
