new CEO impressive achievement

According to Bloomberg The new CEO of Stratex Marcus Engelbrecht had been Chief Financial Officer of OceanaGold Corporation from January 26, 2009 to June 3, 2011 (info from

The share price of OceanaGold Corporation went from from 0.11USD in January 2009 to 3USD in October 2010
that is about 27 times increase in less then 2 years. Today Oceanagold price is still at 3USD


I will be very happy if he will repeat the same thing for Stratex

Spoke to a fellow close to the junior mining space recently who considers the new appointment excellent and is far more optimistic about the company than before, also suggested there will probably be more changes to the board in due course.

I want to see the new CEO promote this company aggressively, the current valuation of £9m is a farce considering the assets, it has been woeful market communications that has caused this.

Stratex need to improve PR & IR and clearly demonstrate they have assets worth considerably more than the market values them at.

Most brokers have target prices in excess of 5p

- Thani Stratex drilling results
- Q3 Altintepe update
- Altintepe extension drilling JORC results
- Altintepe cash distribution

I think sentiment is an important factor and it is in part driven by the volatile gold price. This sector has gone from untouchable relatively recently to valid investment opportunity. At some point STI ought to benefit if only we get some visibility. A junior gold miners fund was up 25% this morning, and while heavily sold into it helps show that new money is coming into the sector.

A bounce in the POG, nothing to get excited about as STI has zero correlation.
The market is waiting for one single message: we're receiving very nice payments from Altintepe.

Yeah this share has gone into stasis until the new (if it is new) strategy is revealed. Some bold changes at Stratex HQ and positive news re: Altintepe ought to see a vote of confidence from investors.
