Something definitely in the wind now - The chairman's statement hints it could be quite soon:- "your Board is now regularly considering a number of Pre IPO financing opportunities. We expect the first of these transactions to be completed shortly and the anticipated benefits therefrom will be reflected in the 2007 results." I've picked up a few more of these.

Quiet thread here - but there's a rumor of a big IPO deal in the offing.

RESULTS OUT NOV 24TH : Chairman's statement for year ended June 2005. During this period we have been raising the profile of our activities in south east Asia and China. To this end, in April this year we acquired, as reported, the whole of the issued share capital of International Business Development Consultants Limited (IBDC) a business consultancy network with offices in London, Hong Kong, and Kuala Lumpur. The acquisition of IBDC will provide us with a wider network for sourcing pre-IPO investment opportunities together with a very valuable local investment monitoring resource. Our strategy for IBDC is to open further offices to provide a global support resource for companies seeking to develop their activities internationally, and discussions to open offices in Moscow and Stuttgart are in progress. We have identified a demand for pre-IPO funding by small cap companies in the UK that suits our investment criteria and we shall accordingly be developing alliances in the UK to give us access to such opportunities. We are considering a number of investment opportunities in south east Asia at present, however our activities in China are on hold as we feel that, at the level at which we operate, the legal system in China is not sufficiently mature at the time being. We are however very well placed to make investments in China as soon as propitious.

So what have SGB actually achived to date, apart from setting up a cash shell and making the directors a packet (on paper) from today's share price increase? Have they invested in any far east companies, or are we awaiting news? Nice to OKG rise on the back of this though! TL

No sure they are worth a punt with the rise now having taken place but they could still be under the logic that all shares are effectively held by a handfull of people who are not going to be selling any just yet. Therefor with the first few retail buys going in over last few days/weeks. There is very little selling pressure.

Opthalmist No they are not correct - they belong to SGB Group who previously had the epic code SGB (Believe they renamed). As you can see the previous news ending in 2000 belonged to the previous holder of this epic. Max
