14/6/2016 09:28 | Hi guys, just wanted to get an idea of how Brexit might affect STM - any views? Cheers jimbob | jimbobjames2002
01/6/2016 13:22 | Somebody dumping stock- wonder if it's Gervais? | firtashia
20/5/2016 10:09 | Up today....hopefully setting in a support level... (Not far below this price there was a chunk of shares bt by the new chairman...) | smithie6
18/5/2016 15:50 | So there's the result of the AGM but nothing on current trading. Back to sleep for a few months. | firtashia
18/5/2016 08:39 | Non statement as bad as a disappointing statement in very nervous market:( | paleje
17/5/2016 20:59 | Price fall is a bit of a worry... Hopefully ok AGM statement and a bit of bounce back ?? | smithie6
17/5/2016 15:23 | Well this was how they saw things in March, we're only 6 weeks on so I wouldn't have thought it would have changed much:- Whilst it is clear that the QROPS market is still very much in its infancy, and will be a continued source of significant revenue and profitability going forward, STM recognises that the natural evolution for this revenue stream is into an administrator of international pensions and this is part of the focus for 2016. The global market for international pensions is not easy to accurately value, however it is undoubtedly the case that it offers sufficient scale for long-term growth opportunities for STM. The Board expects continued growth during 2016 and beyond which, coupled with the ongoing initiatives to offer an Australian pension solution for expatriates, gives STM exciting opportunities to deliver enhanced profitability. The Board is confident in the prospects for the Group and looks forward to updating the market on further progress. Colin Porter Chief Executive Officer | paleje
17/5/2016 11:13 | So here's an interesting dilemma. Now in my price range for a top up but an AGM statement tomorrow. And some selling today. | firtashia
20/4/2016 13:46 | STM = Sentiment Turning Muppets | billdobbin
19/4/2016 13:46 | To move from 50p to 52p took just 2 buys of about 5000 shares each Nuts, surely -- Up 10% Has S.Thompson repeated his buy tip or something ? | smithie6
18/4/2016 09:30 | You are anti STM 'cause you want to buy but at low price if posz. ? Or competitor to STM or De Vere & you want to give them a bad press ? | smithie6
18/4/2016 07:37 | Why is this Value Creation Plan so badly written? There is a `Page 8 of 7` !!?! What is its status? Coincidentally it deals with Malus & Clawback.. Vislink VCP went down like a lead balloon - wonder what the reaction will be here.. | mark2market
17/4/2016 23:22 | Btw Devere-group.com Says that they have alliances with JP Morgan & Morgan Stanley & Royal Bank Scot. We may each have our own views about JPM & MS & scruples but cant deny that they are powerful ppl to be involved with & with a lot of rich clients to try to sell products to. And hence useful partner for little STM, via De Vere. Difficult for STM to sell via JPM & MS phps since STM is so small, is it 140 staff. | smithie6
17/4/2016 22:40 | Your links to info are interesting. But some factors are perhaps quite typical for all financial managers & especially those for retirees. Retirees often get badly looked after since as clients many are not as switched on as many ppl of say 40. Many financial firms arguably charge too much ...if you know a cheap firm that produces red hot gains year after year then the whole world would probably like to know. ----- STM is quite cheap I think. Is it around 800£/year admin fee for a QROPS ? For some ppl it is probably quite useful if you move to live as an expat to have your pension offshore. Phps less chance that UK Govt will try to raid it when it is poor & no automatic uk tax deductions I assume. And can probably invest in inv. funds that pay low taxes in places like Malta, Guernsey. --- Equiniti is a big co. in finance area. Registrar for many big companies. The web is full of complaints about their high charge if need a new cert. or other services. Companies operate to make a profit. ---- If one wants a 100% ethical investment then there are funds for that but some have gone bust ( eg. In Spain where Govt. changed how much it wld pay for solar kws. ..its a tough world out there.) --- I run my SIPP buys/sells. Takes a lot of time. Reading accounts. Looking at change in perf. wrt prev. yrs. If I invested my SIPP into a fund I would see the fund take a % of fund assets every year but I would save myself a lot of my own time. As adults we can all choose what we prefer. | smithie6
17/4/2016 22:22 | 'Big introducers' Turnover overall was flat last year. Up in some divs down in others. Up in Malta so imo De Vere still loves them ! ( DV have ~ 140 staff in Malta they say.....& Middle East staff...which puts work thru Malta Big existing client book that pay a fee each year... existing profits dont depend. imo on new business from DV DV appear to be much bigger....maybe they buy them to add STM services & skills to DV ---- Fin. world is big, DV is not the only poss. agent | smithie6
17/4/2016 18:52 | Apparently deVere does have delusions of grandeur: Largest by what metric? Number of cold calls? They certainly don’t appear in the FT Top 100 Financial Advisers. For STM, the nagging questions still stand: Are there any other big introducers besides deVere? What happens when the deVere CEO sells his STM shares? And if STM loses the patronage of deVere, what is an STM share worth? It comes back to Paul Scott’s concern: are profits genuinely sustainable (over five years, say)? Or will competitors soon be eating their lunch? | mark2market
17/4/2016 18:01 | Update A.Kentish has 12%. I had thought it was 17% ---- Btw N.Green of De Vere still has just over 6%. So since Dec 2014 he has only sold 1% of the co. or 1/7th of his holding. No big deal imho. Still has big investment value in pnds. About 2M pnds. | smithie6
17/4/2016 17:50 | Dec 2014. Mr 'De Vere' sold about 1M shares @18.5p to Alan Kentish STM dev. Dir Quite normal imo Mr N.Green of De Vere has De Vere as his main baby....where he is the boss....he's not an exec. dir at STM All these big fish like to have control and visibility of their invested money.....ie. where they are exec. dirs...De Vere | smithie6
17/4/2016 16:12 | De Vere Apparently the biggest independant IFA in the world. 140 staff in Malta.....& STM turnover from Malta is where the growth has been....so STM shareholders are happy about the cooperation imo You seem to think De Vere are a fraudulent co. I dont think they could have grown to be biggest IFA in the world if that was true. ---- 'Finance companies charge more than they should' It's business, want to make profit. If want to minimise pension admin. charges be sure to shop around. No company with staff costs etc can do it for free. | smithie6
17/4/2016 15:00 | Take a look at those deVere articles/links and do a bit of googling - if you’re happy with what you find then good luck with your investment. Do we know the names of any introducers other than deVere? The deVere CEO has a declared intention to sell down his STM holding “My investment in STM was always only ever intended to be a short-term one…my personal financial interest in the company will continue to be reduced” If/when he’s no longer invested, how will this affect STM? | mark2market
17/4/2016 14:30 | De Vere CEO invested in STM " looking to develop synergies between STM & De Vere" 'Paying 17.5p for new shares' He was right ! & STM shareholders benefitted greatly by him working with STM. Synergies happened & STM profits increased & the share price as well. With share price at around x3 you cant blame him if he bagged some profits. What sales has De Vere made & when ? ------ Big fish often take equity stakes in cos. before trying to help that company. Very common. Us PIs are phps jealous & wld like to be able to do the same. 90-99% of big fish get there 'cause they are shrewd & successful..make good decisions. Many wld say that the more shrewd ppl linked to STM the better. ---- Btw appears that De Vere has 450 selling staff. Big. & why they have managed to help STM business. | smithie6 |
