Should get a NAV update in the next few days. My spreadsheet is giving 10.5p at the moment.

Got the 50k shares at 5.4p.

Now holding 350k shares (just under 1%) at an average of 4.4p thanks to LOTS of previous trading in and out of this one!

Drifted down again from my last buy as I hoped, so trying again for that other 50k at 5.5p or less.

The ALBA holding has had a very good week. That holding is now worth over £375k. There are rumours that the Horse Hill project it is involved in could make the company big time.

I reckon all 75k shares today are buys. I'd been trying to get another 50k shares at 5.5p or less, but someone chunked their buy into smaller lots to get 40k. Huge jump in price for whoever then bought the next 35k!

I'm now sat with 300k shares. My spreadsheet is showing a NAV of 10.8p, so still a big discount even now the price has risen.

Nearly 50k shares sold at 5.275p today, and yet the other 50k buy at 5.5p still won't fill!

Have decided it's time for a top up. Can also buy within my Barclays ISA now.

ALBA seems to be about to take off, and I think NORP will be a big winner in the future.

Net asset value update at 31 January 2014

Further to the Company's announcement of its net asset value as at 10 January 2014 and in fulfilment of the undertaking given to advise the market of significant changes, the Company is pleased to announce that at the close of business on 31 January 2014, the net asset value had increased by GBP500,000 since 10 January and by nearly GBP2m or 84% since 31 December 2013. A number of investments have contributed to this surge in value, but especially Nordic Energy plc in which the Company has a major stake; further details may be found at www.nordicenergyplc.com.

Well NORP is holding steady at a mid price of 7.75p. Of course the last trade was on the 22nd.

SVE being hammered today. Markets very poor. Those SVE holders who bought circa 4p no doubt taking their profits. Unfortunately SVE is a very illiquid share with a very large spread.

Thanks for that zedder. I understand your reasons for discounting the value of NORP (on ISDX). but when SVE calculate their NAV I doubt they do the same. Of course a lot of the SVE AIM quoted shares are probably just as illiquid as NORP on ISDX. Not that SVE are likely to sell any of them. They tend to wait until the stocks have a much bigger Mkt Cap before selling (eg CEY).

Of course SVE might take the opportunity to exercise the 25m 1p warrants. That would boost the NAV because they are not currently valued. I wonder if NORP are getting ready to list on AIM? That could a/c for the recent dramatic rise in the NORP sp? If they do IPO on AIM then SVE will possibly exercise the warrants and sell part of their NORP holding?

The spreadsheet is currently giving a portfolio valuation of £4,553,989

=0.1227p per share (removing 2.3m shares held in treasury from the calculation)
