Suppose Max going spending spree Cayman Islands with Bruce !! surprised you get cheque , is it not better regular dividened payment going directly into your bank account , keeps costs down for SVE !

Not sure that I agree as share buybacks can greatly increase assets per remaining share provided it is done at a very significant discount to post tax asset value.

Example £1,000,000 assets
Market value £500,000
Assume share value £1 on assets £2

Buy back 50% of shares at £1 total cost £250,000.
Each remaining share (250,000) has assets = £3 (total £750,000).
Even at 50% discount share value increase 50%.

Cheers Bruce

disagree

if the co can't find anything better to invest in than share buybacks, then they are not doing what it says on the tin

Will be interesting to see if that 100k trade at 14p is a share buy-back. The company still have the authority in place, and given that they expect a pot of cash from the Belmore buyout, that would make sense to me. And hopefully it would be the first of many to close the gap on the actual NAV.

Maybe there will be a higher bid for Belmore. I am assuming they have offloaded quite a few Beowulf as well so profits could be big this year. Remeber getting a small divi next week as well.

you don't really want a co like this paying out the cash in divis

you want them to use it to reinvest in a spread of future BEMs

Perhaps we can suggest, yet again in my case, that when they get the cash they use some of it for more share buybacks.

the cash bid for Belmore should enable a big divi from SVE to shareholders. This under the announced strategy of dividing capital gains between reinvestment and payment of divis.

not sure it will as I think we've dropped of our highs of six months ago. Might get the chance to get some a little cheaper.
