06/3/2017 09:06 | Pierre,Try PHNX,results and divi announcement 20/03.Should be around a 6% yield,also HSD now yielding 9% until next year. | garycook
06/3/2017 08:45 | I've got lloy already, but underweight atm, so if they drop a little more I'll have a few more. Once the gov stake there has been sold off, which is imminent, they should see a decent rise too. I've still got certificates for quite a few sl. (so can't sell quickly even if i wanted to), which i'll just hang on to, but my much larger isa holding is now history. If these drop 5 or 6% from here, i will buy them back for the large divi here, xd next month for the big final. | pierre oreilly
06/3/2017 08:41 | Peter, Pierre is already in Lloyds :) | utyinv
06/3/2017 08:41 | Yes. Safety in numbers when the roof maybe falling in. Eh buttie. | petewy
06/3/2017 08:39 | Sold my sipp holding. Can't argue with that price for now. | uppompeii
06/3/2017 08:38 | Defensive move by SL | dmf
06/3/2017 08:37 | I sold my holding. | chinese investor
06/3/2017 08:35 | Well this one turned out nicely, just under 50% in about 6 months for me. Probably had a divi in there too. Now need another high divi share or two. Any ideas? | pierre oreilly
06/3/2017 08:30 | Big cost savings. Should see nice results over the next few years. | its the oxman
06/3/2017 08:07 | Nice......to sell or hold for divis... | chesty1
06/3/2017 07:44 | There are several comments in today's FT. The general opinion seems to be that this is a merger forced by pressure from passive funds, with AUM outflows and shrinking margins affecting both companies, especially Aberdeen. Some see the merger as complementary, with Aberdeen bring emerging market expertise to the group, others see efficiencies of scale through redundancies and cost savings. The joint CEOs is, possibly, a sign that merging people businesses is not as easy as it looks on paper. | caradog
06/3/2017 07:34 | Finger on the Sell Button ! | chinese investor
05/3/2017 22:24 | I am predicting 3-4 % tomorrow. Deal seems logical, SL picking up ADN at a low point (hopefully). My SL funds underperformed last year, doubt I'll see an impact anytime soon (and I should look at a three year view) but long term should benefit us all. | dr biotech
05/3/2017 21:51 | Chart wise I have been waiting for a break through the current 370-380 level and a significant rise would bode well for next leg | big7ime
05/3/2017 21:47 | Great time to pick up ADNs AUM at a reasonable price. Cost savings synergies are always nice and good for the shares too Look forward to tomorrow, I wonder if the co's will put out a statement | big7ime
05/3/2017 20:10 | Picking ADN up for no premium and on the cheap doesn't seem a bad deal. Hard to read how the share price will move though or if anyone else will move for ADN. | its the oxman
05/3/2017 19:55 | Should think SL up about 10% tomorrow. Not sure about Aberdeen, not invested there. Salty | saltaire111
05/3/2017 14:56 | Chinese, not so much, "taking out" more a gelling of pots. Remember their money comes from managing other people's money for a fee. | f1araway
05/3/2017 14:54 | You tit, Ganthorpe...you've been looking at ADVFN capitalisations haven't you? SL. is actually £7491bn as opposed to ADN £3774bn i.e 66.5% & 33.5% respectively. In actual fact, I think ADN is the worst off...they were about to start their recovery whilst SL.'s share price may have interim peaked. | nasdaqpat
05/3/2017 14:53 | £200m rumoured cost savings - 15-20% uplift possible I'd have thought | terry topper
05/3/2017 14:22 | Uplift in both shares will come if market factors in cost savings and is broadly positive on motives for the deal. | its the oxman
05/3/2017 14:12 | The press suggest that SL is worth 7.5bn and that ADN will get 0.757 SL shares per share. Based on friday nights closing prices this values each ADN share at 286 - which matches the closing price. So no obvious gain by buying or selling either. | dr biotech
05/3/2017 12:50 | SL take out a competitor ! | chinese investor |
