Standard Life Plc had its stock rating noted as ‘Reiterates217; with the recommendation being set at ‘UNDERWEIGHT’ this morning by analysts at Barclays Capital.
Barclays Capital have set a target price of 330p on its stock.

I'm not sure Dr. I seem to remember that the UK insurer's were unduly disadvantaged by S2 (a stitch up I recall) but it's been a few years since I looked at it in depth. I'll see if I can dig up some info from people I know in the industry still. But I imagine freeing up capital can only be a positive.

Presumably they will have to meet the EU rules though if they want to trade there? Unless they are able to ringfence their Euro operations.

Should be positive for UK insurer's re: solvency 2 requirements being an EU directive and all the capital that ties up. Hopefully the UK on brexit will adopt less restrictive requirements as S2 was only ever a disadvantage to UK based companies.
