LONDRES (Agefi-Dow Jones)--Standard Chartered (STAN.LN) a annoncé mercredi que sa stratégie de restructuration portait ses fruits, laissant espérer que l'établissement bancaire britannique recommencera prochainement à verser des dividendes.
Standard Chartered, très présent en Asie, a indiqué que son bénéfice avant impôt avait atteint 990 millions de dollars au premier trimestre, soit près du double des 500 millions de dollars enregistrés à la période correspondante de 2016. Le bénéfice a été principalement soutenu par le net recul des créances douteuses. Le produit net bancaire a augmenté de 8%, à 3,6 milliards de dollars.
Après la publication de ces résultats, le titre grimpe de 4,3%, à 759,7 pence, à la Bourse de Londres.
