Share price is certainly bizarre.
Would surely make a prime takeover target!

I sold my lot straight after last year's AGM, so not quite as scrambled as you might think!

At first glance results look unbelievably good......or are they?

PE ratio is now down to about 4!

One thing that does strike me straight away is that the dividend cover is now approx. 20! Dividend yield at 1.2% - Why so stingy?

I am definitely missing something here. Can anyone shed some light on what it is, Please?

I did, but it was principally about the glut of residential apartments being put up - mainly for foreign investors - and criticising the planning process. SMP are carrying out the New Covent Garden Market development which is mainly commercial property.

Most builders recovered strongly last week but not this.

Results tomorrow so should be good news.

Of the builders I hold, SMP has fared the worst recently, Inland the best. So I'm considering adding to my existing SMP holding, given the share price is quite a bit lower than the nav at present. Hoping sentiment changes after the results announced soon.

Is anyone aware of any decent future forecast numbers? I've read the latest results and presentation available on SMP site but I can find nothing in respect to future finances, only current & future projects.

I actually took advantage and added today. I'm holding for the long term anyway so this looks like a good opportunity if, as expected, the story holds. General market sentiment is another matter ......

I must say I'm a bit surprised by the general movement of SMP especially in view of the very bullish IMS early December. However this owes me nothing having made some good profits in the past two years so I will hold tight also.

Nearly all builders are following the market down but SMP seems to be harder hit. Following British Land rather than the house builders.

You cannot bet against the markets. There is a full scale mark down of share prices, and no discrimination.

According to BBC news interview, property construction in regions is booming, Birmingham doing very well.

I agree. These were IC's growth tip of the year for 2015 - but are almost back where they started. They might get a short term boost on Friday when (I think) the tips for 2016 are given. They usually review / highlight the previous year's tip.Either way, these should be much higher over the next 18 months.

How can
"The success of all these activities throughout 2015 has culminated in our anticipation of record profits for the business for the financial year, whilst positioning us well for the future"
have spooked anybody?

Nevertheless the market has a downer on them for some reason.
They are great value now.

I'm in a lot of property shares and still think next year will be better than the doomsayers say. I recently sold this and think it might drift lower especially in this nervous market. The tone of their last statement with the 'Likely' may have spooked folks. That said maybe they were just being cautious and will over deliver. Just an opinion.

I drove past the SMP HQ not long ago. The lights were on and the windows looked clean. I can't think of any probs they may be having. I'm not topping up because the cash is needed in other quarters. JP Morgan upped their target from 510 to 530 in Sept. Numis had 570 in June.

SMP has really been a damp squib lately. IC's growth tip of the year is drifting back to where it started the year. However, I suspect the share price will re-rate in 2016. Broker targets were 570p if memory serves - and I thought that was conservative. I'm keeping the faith and taking the chance to add. Any other views?
