Latest gallery photo is there for a reason and probably indicates RNS re progress on already revealed contract. However, the bigger picture raises two questions. FIrstly. Who else out there can collate and diagnose all of this information? Secondly.Which global defence operator is going to be the successful purchaser of SRT marine Plc?

hjb price has popped up a tad and held up not too badly considering the lack of material news. Very good opportunity to sell out I'd have thought if you've no confidence in the company? Can I ask please what other companies you're invested in currently ? or interested in?

Maybe, but that would be an alternate fact. Especially when you look at the history of product releases and innovations by each company.

Kin, yes I expect if you asked the guys at W/Dock they would say that SRT copy them!

easyais sounds like a retail marketing arm - not a website name that's compatible with advanced systems.

Is DJT still trying to make a MDA system with an Iphone and a couple of coat hangers ??

Maybe it's just me but I think this is good news. I'm not worried about competition. It shows the market is real and is moving forward. I've had a good look Weatherdock and I agree with what Neil told me at the AGM. They essentially just copy SRT.

It's small beer but good news.

Cliff - I concur with Prophet's last post but ST also told me that this was the first such news release and that others would follow. It's taken a while for the Galapagos contract to finally reach this conclusion, despite SRT supplying the kit a while ago. Hence it's more appropriate now to put the full story in their "shop window".

ST confimed to me that the 'news release' was part of SRT's day to day marketing to potential customers. Anything new and financially material would be disclosed via RNS.

So that's it, suggest we all move on and return the board to it's usual informative self whilst we await some real news.

Regarding 'proper disclosure' it seems to me that if a customer tells a supplier that they cannot release any information about the order for reasons of national security, then the AIM disclosure rules will go hang.

I imagine that there are many other circumstances requiring commercial confidentiality that can also result in information being kept from the market that investors might think should properly be released. Apple for instance is notorious for trying to place embargoes on its contractors.

Are you able to share the clarification that you got from ST?

When I posted details of the email received from SRT yesterday (4239) I headed it "News Release" though that description was not given by SRT. My mistake, perhaps.

I think the subsequent tetchy name calling from a major investor (who has always in the past made relevant and informed contributions) was unfortunate and inappropriate. As a long term holder of SRT, I did not connect the details with Galapagos because I had a million other more (personally) relevant things on my mind. Just thought it appropriate to share.

Given the long timeline of these projects I took it to be the successful culmination of a decent project which both illustrates the scope of the SRT offering and (I may be wrong) implied ongoing involvement. Recurring income streams will be the rump of this business in a few years IMO.

Just views - DYOR, as ever.

Still leaves a few berks"

Still happy to have been a long term and keen investor, if a little bemused by yesterdays news release. I spoke to Simon last evening who clarified it for me.

Berk or not, I will never be as arrogant as some on here.

End of.

I think you can leave my ethics out of it. You do not know me, nor will you.

LaValmy, if you stick to your valuable contributions rather than childish name callings perhaps you wouldn't have to feel the need to make the above comment.

If companies had to consider the effect of any marketing they do on investors, they wouldn't get very far at all. We are not the centre of SRT's universe.

All news of any sort, recycled or not, can work well in marketing. Especially if you are trying to influence for instance a group of potential customers or an area to target.

So I hope SRT feel free to put whatever they want on their website, that might influence or attract customers. The date of the installation is irrelevant. When I was running a small engineering firm, we lived for years on the installation we did for a multinational, as a selling tool. It never became out of date, because it was going to last for 20+ years.

When and where have I said that it is ok for a company to recycle old news?

This piece of PR puff is irrelevant to investors. If it had any relevance, it would have been properly disclosed.

LaValmy,

if you are saying it is ok for a company to release old news and pretend it is 'new', then your ethics leave a bit to be desired. That seems more like Globo or the average Chinese AIM stock than SRT. Perhaps your level of shareholding Is colouring your comments.

Nowhere in the release yesterday did it say it was old news. Indeed the only date in it was yesterdays date and timestamp. If indeed it is old news then it is very disingenuous.

YumYum

I must have missed the bit in the Intelligent Investor where it said buy on recycled, immaterial, two-year old 'news'.

I will still stick with £1 for March, although whether concrete news on the roll-out in Indonesia will be sufficient on its own is moot. One or two others would probably be required. It certainly seems that there is a clear timeline in place for Indonesia, something like $50 million over 18 months for onshore infrastructure and $50 million thereafter for transponders.

I am still a bit suspicious about the current cash position, but that niggle will disappear once serious shipmemts start.

Companies releasing opaque news is never a good sign, especially when it is the only news.Customers or investors should be able to believe info posted on a companies website. Especially when that info is sent to a site that emails out to everyone !Will we get a Bahrain or trinity house update soon ? :-)Wonder whether the share price at this year's AGM will be less than at last year's AGM ?

LaValmy,

I did not berk today but I think calling people berks because they see SRT is still alive and in a good space might have the risk of making you yourself look like....er...um...

a....b..k

Is this 100% rehash or does it say a little bit new?

I presume your £1 by end-March prediction is withdrawn? Or did I forget your prediction, in which I case I withdraw in a berkish way.

:-)

Fair point, sn. Perhaps it sounds better as 'S.American country' from a pr point of view? Can understand this sort of case study on the web site, but not sure re sending out old news to all and sundry. From the timing of the share price rise clearly a few folk thought this was of significance. That seems a bit of a shame.

What I don't understand is if it's just the Galapagos, why not say so? There's never been any secrecy about it before has there?
