15/12/2016 23:00 | hjb1 - riding on which word is that....? "will" "Christmas" "jam" .........."humbug" ?? | goodapple
15/12/2016 21:42 | On the other hand, Peter Cook's post-Christmas reflection: Don't take much interest in Christmas. Used to be great fun in the old days when it was simply an orgy of commercial excess, but now I find that people are tainting the whole thing with a lot of religious mumbo jumbo. Thank the Lord it's over for another year. | supernumerary
15/12/2016 21:34 | TP I'll second that. One of the staff in our Tesco Express said the music was driving him nuts and spoiling Christmas. I guess its the same if you don't like 'Strictly' and have to watch BBC Breakfast, where it seems to feature as much as Syria. WTF ! | yump
15/12/2016 20:54 | There is, but the word was not used lightly. | the prophet
15/12/2016 20:33 | Blimey! a lot riding on that one word... | hjb1
15/12/2016 09:06 | goodapple -wish you would tell that to my local Tescos, trying to do a bit of shopping with 'Merry Xmas everyone' blasting out and cashiers in 'funny elves hats', I can't take any more! Bah, humbug! Roll on the New Year.... | the prophet
15/12/2016 09:04 | It's not Christmas yet. (said the quiet optimist) | goodapple
15/12/2016 09:03 | would agree with ee, the TU is clear enough. When ee says 'year end', that means financial year end, ie end of March. If there is any change to the 'significant project deliverables in the second half' then, imo, SRT would be bound to release that as news I also agree that the chances of an early Xmas present are looking slim, but there are still 6 trading days to go before then, so one never knows. But, if not, then news in the New Year. | the prophet
15/12/2016 08:53 | hjb1, You have been around here long enough to know the answer to that one. In the 6th October trading update the company said: 'During the period there was material progress with several projects which will result in the completion of significant project deliverables in the second half'. I think the word 'will' is key here. The nomad would get into serious trouble allowing that word unless there was certainty. It would definitely be embarrassing if we get to year-end without an announcement. Edit: Thanks TP. Financial year end March, not year end Dec. | eagle eye
15/12/2016 08:21 | it's getting embarrassing now!! There is every chance we will hear as much in the next 3 months than we did in the last 3, zippo! then what? | hjb1
15/12/2016 03:00 | I think it is fair to say that looking back 4 or 5 months we were expecting news of either a new major contract or deliverables. I am not sure what will appear in H2 now. The jam may get pushed to the back of the cupboard. | fft
14/12/2016 16:52 | Fair enough LaVal. I was expecting a decent contract win by Xmas. Now I have absolutely no idea about anything ! | yumyum
14/12/2016 16:36 | Does anyone find it disappointing that in this age of sending people into space using science, the way in which share prices behave often appears to be tied to some sort of self-fulfilling chart phenomenon, rather than being anything to do with the actual businesses: free stock charts from uk.advfn.com | yump
14/12/2016 16:32 | Where are you lost, YUMYUM? I am rather pleased with the outcome. It started because I needed to open an new brokerage account with a US online outfit for my new structure, and that before becoming UK tax resident. The bounders insisted that Kingsbridge LP could not be a brass plate, but had to have a physical and verifiable address with bills etc. In short, I ended up opening an office for it at the Regus office centre near Luton airport, thankfully now closed. I now have made back all my costs, which I will leave with the new brokerage as their required minimum, and the beer money will be back in the main account. Might even buy a few SRT shares with it. Looks like news may be pushed into the New Year. Suits me, but I remember your £1.00, was it, by Xmas? Tight! | lavalmy
14/12/2016 16:20 | ..even more lost on SRT. A veritable black hole. | yumyum
14/12/2016 15:39 | ..and still holding cos I am lost. | yumyum
14/12/2016 15:32 | even my eE stake shows a profit ! I am blind as to the value. | yumyum
14/12/2016 14:12 | Sold my stake in eE over the last few sessions, for a 25% profit no less! I don't really see the attraction, particularly post-divorce. | lavalmy
14/12/2016 11:45 | I certainly agree that rising political tension assists SRT in pitching for systems to monitor sea traffic whether it's fishing boats, pirates or warships. Whether it brings forward the timescale for signing contracts, I'm less convinced. Regarding MM's indicated spread, the boards I read often contain posts saying " lots of buys today so why isn't the price rising" or similarly phrased questions. The answer is that trades are often done on much tighter spreads so the assumption that anything above the mid price must be a buy and sells always occur below the mid price is false logic. You'll also see someone say, "that sell at xxp was me buying". In other words, on small stocks like SRT, the buy/sell indicator is largely worthless IMO. | alter ego
14/12/2016 11:33 | because the quoted spread is just indicative, as MM's don't want to reveal their hand till an actual deal is on offer, with small caps that is always the way. L2 is just indicative, the most uncompetitive broker on L2 could well turn out to be the most competitive when a trade is placed. Re chinese warship btw, as MDM system is a fusing together of all info, then it's going to stick out like a sore thumb as radar indicates it's there but not showing up on AIS. | the prophet
14/12/2016 11:29 | Whilst here, has anybody got any thoughts why we still have a 7% bid/offer spread quoted (43/40p) on ADVFN. Its actually very close to 42/40 today. The brokers still are making it hard to trade. | 2vdm
14/12/2016 11:25 | I hope you're right. I suspect that if tensions build with a giant like China,SE Asian countries will shelve MDM plans and concentrate on defence with a capital D for radar/civil protection.I don't suppose any chinese warship will have it's class A switched on when it's on the move! | 2vdm
13/12/2016 22:02 | Tension between Trump and China is escalating very quickly. China's neighbours are panicking. Defense spending is set to rocket. Many of these Countries have been talking to SRT for months, even years. I suspect that many wish they had moved faster, allowing them to have the security information that they now need. I suspect that ST'S pen will soon be in great demand. Other parts of the world might also recognise the need to book their place in the queue. Interesting times, especially when the market wakes up. | countryman5
