i think we will agree to disagree here. I was however referencing the unit trust and the flat 75bps fee which i am afraid seems dgood value in contrast to the exorbitant fees /performance fees that the likes of sr. tried to charge....

firm hold on sr. if the opportunity set of 5% is not to be sniffed at in my view. i for one am not that good at finding things that will get me that kind of head start on the market.... also over 2 to 3 months not a bad irr!

i think the vote is somewhat irrelevant as sr are proposing wind up or roll over option.

lol, thanks Skyship. I dont hold any MTH though. The share holders there are too passive for me. As you can see been watching for some time but not for me at the moment.

The discount is a good feature but what could close the gap and when?

I like CG Asset Management who are on the register. Edit and have held CGT so have held MTH on a look through basis.

As a buyer at todays price you could wait the 100 days or so for the AGM "continuation vote" and if there is a cash option and NAV were to stay where it is now pick up 5.44% no exit dealing costs or spread.

Of course something could go wrong, NAV go south or company shareholders vote for continuation.

As an entirely dispassionate non-holder I would say - could go higher, could go lower; and you wouldn't buy SR. purely as a play on the Euro. No, right to move on surely...

yes - have a position and have added this week or so - hard to find stock though. I don't hedge as am happy to take the market risk. Also as SR move their gross and net exposure all the time, i suspect for me it would only end in tears as i would not be able to manage the correct hedging amount. Weiss will have a team of data junkies monitoring this accuratetly,

taken from the sr website -see below, the vote is likely to be in the coming months... as things stand the trust is on a 11% discount and is now very small. With a bunch of arbs on the books and with investec probably non too happy, this could well fail when the vote comes. My comment on the hedging is that weiss want probably to isolate the potential return from the wind up = i suspect even they do not know the direction on the euro or the European markets. Hence if they can get an irr of circa 20% on the wind up in six months, they are happy enough..

The Board of the Company considers it to be desirable that the holders of Ordinary shares should have the opportunity to review the future of the Company at appropriate intervals.

The Articles of Association of the Company provide that at the Annual General Meeting of the Company held to approve the Company's financial statements in respect of the financial year ending 31 December 2011, the Directors will propose an Ordinary Resoloution for the continuation of the Company in its current form. If this resolution is passed, a similar resolution will be proposed at every third Annual General Meeting thereafter.

If such a resolution is not passed, a General Meeting of the Company will be convened within the following four months to consider proposals for the liquidation, reorganisation or reconstruction of the Company.
