16/12/2015 17:49 | Hi TBF, I'm not a seller atm, but 'never say never, etc.' What would you say is 'the right price', given uncertainties over Euro on the one hand but management and product quality on t'other ? And what better would you buy with the proceeds ? There's existing, 'known' (?) risk and replacement risk...... Won't hold you to any reply you care to give ! ATB | extrader
16/12/2015 17:34 | I wouldn't be against it at the right price 😄 | the big fella
16/12/2015 17:07 | Jom - I havent seen the Westhouse note either but suspect it is merely speculation on their part, looking at the proposed Newell Rubbermaid-Jarden deal and putting 2+2 together i.e. Newell Rubbermaid have a track record of acquiring companies, so once Jarden is part of their stable, it might increase the likelihood of the combined entity making another approach for SPRP. But afaiaa it is at this stage pure speculation. | speedsgh
16/12/2015 15:09 | I can't see the article but given that BRK Brands (part of Jarden) own 23.6% and were rebuffed with a hostile approach in 2013 it doesn't sound too absurd. Especially since the two companies have a close working relationship (SPRP have sold BRK products since 2010, Jarden is the majority owner of the Chinese factory). But would the directors be in favour of a sale this time round (last time the offer price was 90p)? CEO Neil Smith has only just joined the company and outlined his long-term strategy in September. Interesting that the speculation is from the company's NOMAD. Do they have anything in particular to suggest an approach at this point? | jombaston
16/12/2015 10:04 | Thanks Red and Speed for posting.Helping the price along. | shauney2
16/12/2015 09:56 | Westhouse Securities are apparently speculating on possibility of a bid for SPRP by Newell Rubbermaid who are in the process of taking over Jarden. Newell Rubbermaid makes $15bn bid for rival Jarden - ... In recent years Newell Rubbermaid has grown by making a series of acquisitions. In October it bought adhesives maker Elmer's and last December acquired Baby Jogger, a maker of sporty prams. The deal is expected to close in the second quarter of 2016 if it wins the approval of shareholders in both companies . | speedsgh
16/12/2015 09:48 | harrogate Dave hi Thank you for contacting Sprue Aegis plc. We expect to publish a trading update in mid-January once the year end result has been determined. The date of the announcement has not yet been set. Kindest regards John | reddave999
10/12/2015 08:06 | Yes - very re-assuring on both fronts. I'm particularly pleased with the SONA news which was very much more under their direct control. It's a higher margin product. | glaws2
10/12/2015 08:05 | Yes all good although I thought they might have updated/ reassured on trading for the year about to end. Maybe the fact they didn't is causing the fairly muted response | harrogate
10/12/2015 08:03 | Seems like a reasonable statement today, executing on their business plans in a timely manner. | rcturner2
04/11/2015 19:29 | thanks for the link davidosh, like all management the man can talk the talk, at least he did give the questioner who asked would profits be lower in 2016 than 2015 a straight answer (they wouldn't) even then, it was as if some investors just hadn't taken in the facts over this point. 3800 | 3800

23/9/2015 20:20 | for all the posters who have got worried about the recent director dealing look back less than a year to this 12 November 2014 Sprue Aegis plc ("Sprue" or the "Company") Director's Dealing The Company announces that it has been notified that earlier today and yesterday, John Gahan, Group Finance Director, sold 27,000 Ordinary Shares ("Ordinary Shares") in the Company at an average price of £3.02 per share for personal reasons. Following this transaction, John Gahan has an interest in 20,000 Ordinary Shares, which represents approximately 0.04 per cent. of the Company's issued share capital. It's happened before, the shares fell 15% and the results that followed were excellent, I'm not saying this time will be a re-run but I don't read too much into this sale. 3800 | 3800
23/9/2015 12:57 | Doesn't exactly fill you with confidence does it? They should be concentrating on filling the order book for when the German market dries up. | reddave999
23/9/2015 12:08 | Not quite RCT, The FD exercised his options and sold all of them along with 50% of his residual holding leaving him with just 10,000 shares. Looks like NED John Bought 23,063 off Graham Whitworth and Ashley Silverton. | cockerhoop
23/9/2015 12:01 | RCT - Agreed. Yesterday's rns was little to worry about imo. | speedsgh
