12/12/2002 18:46 | Noted news today that Mears have taken over one of their smaller rivals. Not Spring Grove, but who knows, we could be next!!!! | tyranosaurus
09/12/2002 10:57 | Investors Chronicle w/e 12/12/02 says Spring is an attractive investment in a sector where increasing emphasis is being placed. KEEP BUYING | beerbandit
03/12/2002 13:28 | Price goes up 6p on Monday due to 8 buys - all from the tip no doubt. Only 18k shares bought. | tyranosaurus
01/12/2002 11:13 | Sunday Telegraph says: Spring Grove in good repair. Spring Grove looks attractive. Buy. See Business section page 11 for complete article. Will see if price is marked up on Monday morning and if anybody buys. | tyranosaurus
28/11/2002 13:34 | Not one trade since this news appeared. Strange. | tyranosaurus
26/11/2002 20:31 | I agree, looks a reasonably priced and sensible acquisition. Interesting that no share price rise today. | simonevans
26/11/2002 13:38 | Acquisition. Had a quick look at the RNS. Looks very good. | tyranosaurus
01/8/2002 00:27 | RNS Number:3626Z Spring Grove Prop. Maintenance PLC 31 July 2002 Spring Grove Property Maintenance plc ("Spring Grove" or "the Company") Results of Annual General Meeting At the Annual General Meeting of the Company held earlier today, all the resolutions proposed were duly passed. As noted in the report and accounts sent to shareholders on 5 July 2002, Mike Watson has now retired from the Board and John Harrison has been appointed as a non-executive director with overall responsibility for financial control. John Harrison, aged 57, FCA, was formerly a partner with Deloitte & Touche and he is also a director of Omgie Limited. No further information falls to be disclosed under the AIM Rules. Chris Phillips, Chairman of Spring Grove, commented at the AGM: "We are pleased that John has joined the Company and his experience will help to strengthen our finance function which is key to Spring Grove's successful development. In addition, the Company now has the facility to proceed with a possible fundraising for which the resolutions passed would be used. However, the Company will not use the authorisation to allot shares with a nominal value of more than 5 per cent. of the issued share capital except for a fundraising, subject to prior consultation with our major institutional investors." 31 July 2002 | james8
06/7/2002 14:00 | you tell us. Where did u hear that? | sinso
05/7/2002 16:19 | is it true that they have lost one of their best contracts (richmond council). | rs123
31/5/2002 18:51 | Not invested directly but someone mentioned VCT`s earlier. One VCT invested is the Unicorn AIM VCT managed by Peter Webb which i am invested in. It was one of the first of the funds investments at 40p and i should have followed suit. | sinso
31/5/2002 18:29 | What the bl---y h-ll has happened to this today? SGV is still good value but I may be tempted to sell some if this price sticks next week. | tyranosaurus
31/5/2002 16:28 | Bingo! Up 23% now. Obviously the secrets out to at least a few more. I had just been thinking about the likely eps figures for next year (Jan04) - even if the recent growth rate halved we would still get 12p. On say 15 times this gives 180p as possible price target... Wishful thinking maybe but on previous form by no means impossible. | salar
31/5/2002 16:18 | Moving very very fast in last 10 minutes. Very illiquid. | pacman88
31/5/2002 16:11 | It didn't get in todays IC. Anyway up 12.5p | james8
31/5/2002 16:04 | Like what I see. Am buying some for the long tern. | pacman88
31/5/2002 15:56 | No idea about the VCTs I'm afraid. Seems odd that over 40k buying vol has gone through today though and now up 4p -wonder if it has been tipped on a website or something ? | salar
31/5/2002 15:00 | Good to see the buying continue. Hope SGV gets a mention in W/E press. I don't know what their divi poloicy is. I suppose that if they continue to expand organically we might get a divi, but if they get acquisitive then its less likely. I see that major shareholders are VCTs. Do you know how long they tend to hold? | james8
31/5/2002 13:25 | Managed a small top up before the 2p rise today - still looks well undervalued. Hoping for a maiden divi this year from those 9p+ of earnings. | salar
30/5/2002 10:13 | Salar, Thanks for the earnings forecast. I bt on reading IC on 12/4. SGV house broker Shore Capital forecast for yr ending 31/1/02 sales £7.5m and profit £400k which is virtually exactly what was achieved.Hence I guess the small share price rise. But with earnings seemingly doubling each yr and being in a fairly safe sector it looks v cheap. I like Parkwood (which I think u have). Similar business but lower earnings growth. Mears is doing v similar things and is a great company- always looks too pricey. 'fraid, couldn't get into growth co site, so any feedback v welcome. | james8
30/5/2002 08:15 | This is starting to look like a small cap growth story with great potential. They have doubled eps over the past two years and look set to do so again, acc. to this comment on the growthcompany.co.uk website yesterday: 'Basic earnings rose 116% to 4.43p a share, and investors can expect 9.4p for 2003, placing the shares on a lowly prospective rating of just 5.5. Buy.' (may be subscriber only) We have the example of Mears (current PE 25) to show what the possibilities are in this area, and I imagine SGV may have had at least a once-over from them as regards a possible bid. Just kicking myself I didn't get in in the mid 40s! | salar
29/5/2002 18:35 | Results look OK to me. On target to turnover £10m this year and make £750k profit. Factoring costs were high but have now gone so should be a good year. Keep holding - I am. | tyranosaurus
29/5/2002 14:27 | SGV released their prelims today with (I tkink) no warning. I haven't seen any forecasts but they look v strong. Several contract renewals and new contracts signed. | james8 |
