11/1/2017 08:31 | Sports Direct announces that on 10 January 2017 it purchased 523,900 of its ordinary shares from Citigroup Global Markets Limited (acting as the Company's broker) on the London Stock Exchange at a price of 283.8 pence per share. 11/1/2017 08:24 | That's what I'm getting at, i think MA would sell out, either he has to relinquish control within or get out completely, but I do not think the market will ever rate the co. properly while he is in control, and i think the business has real fundamental problems, particularly with image! But the task is enormous to turn the trajectory around, it is a big co., this will exacerbate the task! | bookbroker
11/1/2017 08:19 | PE would be very unlikely to work with Ashley as they would want control. They would buy it without Ashley, but at a price a long way short of this. | paddyfool
11/1/2017 07:45 | Bought some underlayers in SPD., t'other day in Harrogate, what a jungle that store is, so much stock in every knook and cranny, great prices, but the store was not busy, as to be expected on a Monday, however I wonder what their actual sales really are, I await their trading statement with glee, this is either a value play or a trap! Seeing as the co. Appears always in sale mode, I get the feeling they need to upgrade their image and move more upmarket, rationalise their brands as they are doing, and focus on the leading brands, this will mean further writedowns, but the company does generate a lot of cash, I do believe that the co. Will be better in private hands, would Mike Ashley sell out to private equity, a possibility, it would make an interesting scenario! | bookbroker
11/1/2017 05:59 | Equaliser MorningI think you'll find that trade was from the previous day. | nortic 007 |
