29/5/2005 21:30 | You 95 kuqi??? | qut
29/5/2005 21:17 | I think there's many of us in the 'been there, done it, got the T shirt' club where this lot's concerned, markhutch. Offloading price is now at 7p, so I'm looking forward to when it gets back up to around 20p and I'm getting out. Although in reality, it'll probably be my kids who'll benefit as I'll leave my shares to them in my will. :) | kuqi
27/5/2005 08:59 | Spot on, Kuqi. You've obviously been round the block a couple of times too. My thoughts, and situation, exactly. | markhutch
27/5/2005 08:57 | when are year end results? | qut
20/5/2005 23:33 | Er, thanks for that VC. From my point of view though, you're a couple of years too late with that great advice. Oh well, it's not long to wait for the year end results to come out. If I'm not going to make any money on these shares(or even get anywhere near to recoupimg my initial outlay), I may as well have a good laugh at the usual chairman's statement. Odds on, it'll include such timeless classics as "difficult market conditions", "we have strengthened the management team to take the company forward", and not forgetting the ever popular "the board remains cautiously optimistic for the next financial year".........until the next trading statement anyway, I suppose. That's always a good one to finish with. Ooh, I just can't wait. | kuqi
09/5/2005 13:59 | Anybody tempted at 6.5p? The sector market still very poor, and still think share price will drop further. | spiritbear
28/4/2005 12:36 | Do you think the majority shareholder(s) will want to sell up? AIM is probably a better position for SPM but it does make them potentially vulnerable to a takeover. I think there is a new AIM listing in May. SPM could be in there. | spiritbear
27/4/2005 18:15 | This company is turning into a perfect opportunity for a takeover. Would that be such a bad thing? | nistrator
25/4/2005 20:15 | Y'know when you look at a graph, you can see so many different things and interpret them in so many different ways. But when I look at that SPM one year graph, I can see just one thing. It resembles a hand with the middle finger raised in my direction! Is it trying to tell me something about my purchases of this stock? | kuqi
25/4/2005 18:32 | 7p...a nice round number! The only buyers that MIGHT buy at this price are the remaining staff under the employee share incentive plan. 2 or 3 for the price of 1. But who could really guarantee they could stay long enough to reap the profits? | spiritbear
21/4/2005 21:17 | "No SPM is a favourite of short sellers" So there's plenty of feeling around that the price could go a fair bit lower? Wonderful. | kuqi
21/4/2005 12:15 | I think the end of year accounts will probably show that their leases of buildings that they once occupied a few years ago, are still being paid for. It would seem that they are unable to sublet those buildings. That would drain their profits to top it all! | spiritbear
20/4/2005 22:53 | No SPM is a favourite of short sellers | mryesyes
18/4/2005 17:27 | Oh yes, and just who is dumping a load of shares at the mo? It's making me think about cutting my losses on this lot. Do they (whoever it is) know something I don't? Selling vast wads at around 7 or 7.5p is slightly worrying, as there are very few occasions, if any, when they could have bought them at that price, so it looks like someone or some people are selling at a loss. Is everyone bailing out and leaving me to turn off the lights????? | kuqi
18/4/2005 17:17 | "The managers were in print and forum sales" Don't they normally have a pretty high turnover of sales managers anyway? From what I've heard before about sales managers coming and going, I'm surprised they actually had any with 10 years experience. In fact, I'd be equally surprised to find out they had many with 2 years managerial experience of sales. Print sales is understandable, but now it's getting in to forum sales as well? Either way you look at it, it doesn't look good for turnover. If they were asked to go, they obviously weren't performing, and if they left of their own accord, does this mean that turnover was so low they weren't reaching expected earnings levels? "I personally think that the share price will continue to drop!" Well thanks for that, 0820. It sort of completes a really bad day all round for me. :( "Not so much the company's plans as the company's 'AIM', pun intended." God, that's terrible! | kuqi
18/4/2005 11:19 | Kuqi - Not so much the company's plans as the company's 'AIM', pun intended. | 0820
18/4/2005 09:09 | Kuqi - The managers were in print and forum sales. I personally think that the share price will continue to drop! | 0820
15/4/2005 19:35 | 0820 - which managers are these then? We've all seen the last directorate change thing with Derek Watson, but which positions are the latest ones where these managers have jumped/been pushed overboard? Are they on the operational side (e.g. production, editorial)? If so, it's looking increasingly likely that the earlier post about moving the operational sectors over to India will start to look like a reality. Or maybe they're thinking about phasing out the print side altogether, and concentrating solely on web and forums? That'd possibly be a good thing for them, but that wasn't the new combined print/web/forum business sectors which was trumpeted as the way forward to success by the chairman a couple of years ago. So is it yet another change of the blueprint in midstream? I'd really love to know what this company's future plans are. Trouble is, I doubt whether anyone at director or senior management level knows either. | kuqi
15/4/2005 16:06 | I wouldn't buy at 5p unless you expect a take over. Managers and senior sales staff are still jumping ship. This includes people with over 10 years at the company who know that time is running out. | 0820
08/4/2005 13:43 | Oh look, here we go again. That shares graph reminds me of an old Status Quo song. Now what was it? Oh yes, that's it - Down, Down! Anyone care to hazard a guess at where they might bottom out? With the exception of a slight blip in May of last year, they haven't been this low for two years. By my calculation, that's about a further £37k wiped off of Marlborough Fund Managers' investment, and £126k off Utilico's stake in the company, in just the first two hours of this morning. I bet they're happy holding on to that lot. | kuqi
04/4/2005 11:25 | Lower tele-sales starting salaries and perhaps cheaper commercial building rates/rent than London. | spiritbear |
