30/1/2010 18:01 | 47 you're not taking the gearing into consideration or that some big airport contracts will soon be up for renewal. | outsider
28/1/2010 05:53 | From their site: "Spectrum Interactive announces the completion of the rollout of WiFi services across Moto Hospitality Ltd (Moto), the UK's largest provider of motorway service areas. The service provides Moto's customers with free WiFi across the entire UK estate of 60 sites. The network configuration includes a number of bespoke features and a public web filter." Also found them on Twitter: | danger_ray
26/1/2010 11:43 | My reading of the RNS is that Oceanwave had problems with finance and Spectrum have taken on the assets and debts of the business and employed Jon Howell as Spectrum's Marina Account Manager. ie Spectrum get a new business (value?) and Jon gets continuing employment with Spectrum. Hopefully a win win. | sailing john
25/1/2010 20:32 | More news to follow! | battlebus
25/1/2010 18:26 | Oceanwave was actually fairly small - just 35 marinas? But a move into a new market, so good news. Wasn't it Square Mile that had Wi-Fi in marinas that featured on Dragons Den - and was bought by BT Openzone? | danger_ray
25/1/2010 17:41 | Debt levels were on track and reducing nicely worried slightly by this .A share placing might not be a bad thing once we find out what they paid. | battlebus
25/1/2010 14:42 | Undisclosed sum - I thought they had to tell the market? Sounds more like a football move than an acquisition! Shows how little I know! D'Oh! I guess it's all cash, but if there is to be a placing it would be a remarkable coincidence after Friday's trades........ Any which way I find the RNS perplexing, but I agree that it looks a sensible purchase and probably a nice little captive market. I am struggling to recall where/when I heard something like this WiFi in marinas being touted, not Dragon's Den once upon a time - anyone? | egoi
25/1/2010 12:19 | This looks like a good acquisition From Oceam Wave website - Charges are £5/day, £15/month, £30/3month and £110/year. Could add £1m+ to turnover with opportunities to grow. Current Spectrum turnover around £14m, PBT 0.8m, cash generative, Market Cap less than £2m and PE around 2. Overlooked or have I missed something? Bought 2*10k at 5.2p this morning DYOR SJ | sailing john
25/1/2010 12:10 | Spectrum Interactive plc has bought the assets of marina WiFi operator, Ocean Wave Europe Ltd, for an undisclosed sum. Ocean Wave Europe Limited, established in 2006 had grown into one of the largest marina WiFi networks in Europe, but ran in to difficulties in 2009. Spectrum will deliver high speed wireless internet access to 40 coastal and inland marinas in the UK and Ireland. Spectrum completed the network takeover during December 2009 and as a result will provide an estimated 15,000 permanent berth holders and visiting yachtsmen with easy to use WiFi connectivity. Marinas include Premier Marinas, Yacht Havens, Associated British Ports and many independent marinas | sailing john
22/1/2010 21:38 | ah thx forget to look at plus sometimes | outsider
22/1/2010 17:35 | As i say a large seller still dumping shares. Shares really cheap but wouldn't buy anymore just yet. | battlebus
22/1/2010 15:51 | Thank you. Had the plus front page open. Not one of my sharper days. | colonel a
22/1/2010 15:43 | Colonel you'll find trade data here: Recent couple of trips through airports had revived my interest - machines were doing brisk business and did seem to be working a bit (still relative!) better than their predecessors. | egoi
22/1/2010 15:24 | 700K traded on plus. Looks like somebody dumped @ 4.5 but can't see how many. | colonel a
22/1/2010 10:43 | wow 19,000 pushed it down 25% :O less than 1k worth. | outsider
22/1/2010 10:35 | someone must be selling in qty, trades revealed later i guess | outsider
31/10/2009 16:00 | Someone trying to sell a large % of the shares is currently bringing the shares down.No takers for large amounts so its sells every day for weeks. A sell on friday of 10000 at 6.5p really takes the biscuit, could have sold earlier for 8p. Looks like we will head lower till he's done. Ah well fundamentals are sound and if she goes any lower will buy more. Must ring regards the agm date. | battlebus
30/9/2009 07:59 | Debt now below 4 million and two divisions should create effiency and leaves room in later years for possible corporate action. As they say profit ahead of market expectations. | battlebus
30/9/2009 07:34 | Pretty solid results at first glance. | battlebus
29/9/2009 20:16 | What will tomorrow bring? Anyhow looking forward to reading the results and what progress has been made. | battlebus
18/9/2009 17:13 | It looks good value, I think you will do well. I'll take a further look over w/e maybe. | outsider
18/9/2009 17:07 | Can't persuade you to buy Outsider only to say that debt in 07 would have been ofset if we didn't have to switch into the growth of wifi and the cap ex that goes along with it. Expenditure this half will be well down and hopefully debt will be under 4 million though travel numbers are on average 20% down and revenue from telephones will be lower again i think this half will show how long a life this business model has. Quietly confident that management will see the downturn through. | battlebus
18/9/2009 14:41 | Been checking this morning if to buy back in....but with seasonality skewed towards first half and the following about debt, decided not to for now- y/end June 2007 from RNS Net debt reduced from £4.9m to £4.5m Latest Interims net debt reduced to 4.6m. >> That's my problem, they keep saying debt reduced, but it goes back up again. However battlebus, I want it to do well for you, and it may well do, can you persuade me to buy? | outsider
14/9/2009 10:47 | RESULTS 29th September should be interesting, has the travel downturn offset the growth in various new hotel and airport terminals. It's my view that we should see a steady increase in profits and debt reduced. A few scared sellers lowering the price at the moment. | battlebus |
