02/9/2015 11:41 | Commentary up by Paul Scott and he mentions that the contract was previously run by JC Decaux. When JC Decaux won it in 2010 they valued the 5 year contract at £160m ! hxxp://www.mediaweek | zoolook
02/9/2015 11:36 | Hi - well Gresham House haven't exited but as good as given they have exchanged for shares in SPARK and so only have a much smaller indirect holding in SAL. Anyway, very good news today. Looks to be edging towards full recovery. | topvest
12/8/2015 23:03 | Never heard of Spark Ventures PLC but checked into their website -hxxp://www.sparkven See its Non Exec Chairman is that blast from the past-David Potter. Gresham House is the new Investment Manager for Spark and as far as I can see has sold its SAL shareholding in exchange for Spark Shares-ie Gresham House is not exiting-at least that is my reading. | cerrito

21/7/2015 20:54 | Interesting news today from Gresham House. Their SAL shares are being asset swapped to Spark Ventures in a complicated deal at a 7% discount. As a Gresham House holder I'm not particularly impressed, but they are getting an interesting stake in return. At least it moves on a possible overhang. | topvest

15/7/2015 10:43 | Hi Zoolook, I wouldn't worry too much about the value stated their, as long as it was advertised above OJEU threshold (£150,000) the tender can increase to any value (especially as this is a contract to make Network rail money). I won a simialr health related contract and it is currently over 15x the orginal sum per annum to our business. | thebantamboy
15/7/2015 00:33 | Hi Zoolook. Thanks for the link, interesting. I've seen estimates of 10x that figure for the value of the contract. If you think about the potential, from the many hundreds of large railway station concourses up & down the country, I imagine there is considerable scope to make this contract very lucrative. So it's wrong to pre-judge it, before we have heard from SAL what they intend doing, and the likely financial results. It strikes me as a terrific opportunity - just think about the footfall at railway stations, and the sheer number of them - many millions of people passing through them every day. That's got to be a big opportunity for SAL, providing they set up the contract right. So I'd rather they take their time, and don't make any mistakes on e.g. guaranteed minimum income for Network Rail - as that's the biggest risk in this type of business, and is where they ran into problems in Germany last year. Regards, Paul. | paulypilot
14/7/2015 22:15 | Thanks PP, The RNS was not as clear as it should or could have been. Here is a link to the Invitation to Tender. The contract value is stated as £200,000 - £500,000 which is less than I had assumed given their declaration that it was "significant". More blots in the copy book IMO. | zoolook
14/7/2015 18:58 | Hi, My understanding, after making enquiries, is that the detailed contract terms are negotiated after the ten day standstill arrangement has expired. So I'm told to expect a delay of possibly several weeks until full details of the Network Rail contact are announced. Especially at this time of year, with people being on holiday, etc. So we'll need to be a little more patient, but that's not a concern. Just thought I'd pass on this info. Regards, Paul. | paulypilot

14/7/2015 10:20 | The 10day period has come and gone. Wouldn't be surprised if there was a government embargo currently on new contracts being signed at Network Rail given their difficulties with the Dept of Transport | zoolook
07/7/2015 12:08 | When the share price shot up after the news, as an existing holder I was looking to add and initially disappointed with the buying difficulty on the opening morning. I decided to leave it a few days and see how things stood after a few days closer to the contract confirmation and now took some this morning. Very happy to be a decent sized holder, on the basis "you've got to be in to win" and there'll be little point trying to be so, once the contract is firm and broker forecasts start to appear. I have felt that suchlike has been deliberately held back until the contract is firm and that also connected with the relatively small number of shares here. All the best at SAL. f | fillipe

29/6/2015 15:58 | I'm out. SAL Management not redeemed themselves totally yet and value of latest contract not clear. Likely to be some opportunities thrown up with the Greek fiasco so keen to have the cash available. Good luck to holders. | zoolook
