18/8/2015 08:10 | Wonder if we might get another RNS or two about who has bought shares as 10% are being added re the acquisition and the previous RNS's had nothing to do with those | buywell3
17/8/2015 10:47 | On a more important topic In 2003 the WHO recommended type 2 diabetes screening The UK Government have not directed the NHS to do this As a result currently 10% of the NHS budget is spent treating Type 2 diabetes outcomes when it could in most cases been treated early if detected by a screening program such as the cervical cancer screening program. But nothing has happened The number of UK people with diabetes is now 4m A rise of 60% , SIXTY percent , in the last 10 years It is not wide of the mark to say over 25% of the NHS budget will be spent on diabetes treatments by 2025 if a diabetes screening program is not implemented. Common sense seems to have gone out of the window with both political thinkers and policy makers , plus , what is the NHS doing about changing such misguided judgement . Get a grip To do nothing means an already cash strapped NHS will go bust by 2020 and private healthcare plans like the USA will come in for those that can afford them Perhaps SBS can get involved when screening starts as it surely must | buywell2

14/8/2015 14:33 | It surprises me somewhat that there has been an exodus of PI's from this share over the time of this thread And I hope and I trust it was nothing I said Trading for most seems the way of the game And I think that is a bloody crying shame Trading's for losers , the stats clearly show I tried it sometimes so therefore I know Soon I'll desist : take a break : go away , maybe it will be others who will then have their say I'll still be keeping a watching brief however. | buywell3

14/8/2015 10:16 | Methinks cost savings by the government re HPV vaccine inoculations in trying to cut down /replace conventional Cervical Cancer smear testing seems a bit premature . ''the total number of illnesses associated with the HPV jab tops the number of side-effects reported in all other routine health programmes combined.'' ''The Japanese health ministry has previously warned against the vaccination while European countries are continuing to re-evaluate its use.'' ''Otherwise healthy school-aged girls have reportedly suffered chest and abdominal pains, exhaustion, breathing difficulties, postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome, which triggers an abnormally high heart rate, and fibromyalgia, which causes chronic pain throughout the body. In more than a quarter of the cases, the effects have apparently been so severe that they were considered 'life-threatening' and required immediate medical treatment.'' ''In light of their own report, the UK's MHRA has continued to claim that there were no 'major safety concerns' associated with the jab.'' | buywell2
14/8/2015 07:56 | The other thing is that Hargreave Hale are already now holding more than the Class 1 Cirular shows AFTER the extra shares from the acquisition are added which was 4.4% They currently already hold 5.39% Hargreave Hale and the UK listed company Oryx International Growth Fund have both been adding recently , and will presumably hold even more of SBS after the acquisition shares If Richard Griffiths holding , owns 9.2% according to the Class 1 Circular , and still will own 9.2% after the acquisition share addition is added to that of Oryx International Growth Fund who will probably be holding around 16.7% , and added to Hargreave Hale , who will probably own 6% Those 3 will hold 32% of the company and rising Henderson Global , Artemis and L&G are losing ground , their combined holdings will become 19.7% , 10.8% ( Artemis has just sold around 0.5% presumably to Hargreave Hale ) and 6.8% So these 3 hold a combined 37.3% Seems like quite a few Institutions like this share | buywell3
14/8/2015 07:35 | Regarding the latest RNS This shows that a listed company ORYX International Growth Fund own 50m shares a holding of 15.9% However on the Class 1 Circular the holding is referred to as Harwood Capital which I don't see as a listed company on the stock exchange , Oryx International don't show on it. Also the Class 1 circular only shows the current holding of Harwood Capital at 13.3% rising to 14.1% AFTER the addition share allocation from the acquisition shares So why the different names ? Seems to me from the latest RNS Oryx International want their name to be used as they are a listed company ie with a share price So why isn't Oryx International Growth Fund on the Class 1 Circular ? | buywell3
13/8/2015 17:41 | Cervical cancer 'not just a young woman's disease' 15 June 2015 There is a perception that cervical cancer is a young woman's disease, but half of deaths occur in women over 65, a British Medical Journal report says. It argues that the age limit for cervical screening should be raised to 70 and older women should be targeted in health campaigns. There was an average of 449 deaths from the cancer in over-65s and seven in under 25s between 2010 and 2012. The report says the number of older women affected is set to increase. By the age of 60-64, just 72% of women in England in 2013 had been screened in the previous five years. This compares with 82% of 50 to 54-year-olds and 76% of 55 to 59-year-olds. While cervical cancer is the most common cancer in women under 35, it continues to affect women of all ages. Change perception Lead report author Dr Sue Sherman, senior lecturer in psychology at Keele University, said the figures suggest that older women are not getting themselves screened to prevent cervical cancer. If a woman, aged over 65, has any concerns about her cervical health, we suggest that she contacts her GP Prof Julietta Patnick, Director of NHS cancer screening "This has become a significant contributor to the number contracting the disease." She said that attention on younger women - including the death of television celebrity Jade Goody aged 27 in 2009 - had made women think of cervical cancer as a younger woman's disease. There has also been a campaign to lower the age of screening from 25 in England after the death of a number of young women from cervical cancer. Yet 20% of new diagnoses are in women over 65. "We need to change the perception of cervical cancer so it is thought of just like breast and bowel cancer - that it can affect women well into old age." Dr Sue Sherman explains why cervical cancer can affect all women The report found that women who had been tested regularly between the ages of 50 and 64 had "a relatively low risk" of getting the disease in the next 20 years. But women who had not been screened during this time increased their risk considerably. Dr Sherman said: "Regular screenings have the potential to catch the disease early and reduce the number of victims of cervical cancer dramatically." Screening invites The NHS cervical screening programme in England, Wales and Northern Ireland stops sending invitations for cervical screening after a woman reaches 65, although they can request to be screened after that time. In Scotland, women between the ages of 20 and 60 are screened, but this will change to come into line with England's programme in April 2016. Prof Julietta Patnick, director of the NHS cancer screening programmes, said: "The natural history of cervical cancer means that it is unlikely that women of 65 and over who have been regularly screened and discharged from the programme will go on to develop the disease. "If a woman, aged over 65, has any concerns about her cervical health, we suggest that she contacts her GP at the earliest opportunity." Cervical screening is estimated to save 4,500 lives in England each year. Robert Music, chief executive of Jo's Cervical Cancer Trust, said there was an urgent need to increase survival rates for women in this age group. He said some women believed that because they had been celibate for several years they did not consider themselves to be at risk. "We must remind all women that HPV is very common and can lie dormant for very long periods of time, and that the best way of reducing one's risk of cervical cancer is to attend screening promptly whilst eligible," he said. | buywell2
13/8/2015 08:33 | just remember when the trumpets came out at Jericho !! | bigman
13/8/2015 08:23 | SBS has in the past gone down the road of slowly slowly catch the monkey Newsflow by RNS does tend to move the SP What goes up quick can come down just as fast But at some point , when you know that you have got it right and traction and momentum have kicked in It is time to get the trumpet out | buywell3
13/8/2015 08:18 | There has been a lack of newsflow from the company in my opinion Re my last post The recent cash raised for the Select Pharma acquisition was at 14p the prevailing share price on the day of the announcement It was oversubscribed The Institutions that bought are already sitting on a circa 20% profit Plus a decent set of Interims is now on, with a full 6 months from last years Vindon Healthcare acquisition and the cross selling benefits it brought, kicking in V 2014 Interims 18p following the Interims looks highly likely The next acquisition should attract a premium to the share price as Institutions clearly want this stock. Maybe due to the over-subscription a premium could have been got this time .... but the value of hindsight costs a lot. | buywell3 |
