29/9/2016 12:32 | "bamboo228 Sep '16 - 17:19 - 448 of 450 0 0 Smithie, I'm confused by your statement that charting is for fools. What evidence do you have for this?" You remind me of a charter on MOS message board....(Sammie25 or similar name) I took the mickey for years blind belief in charts for illiquid small caps.....didnt serve him very well ---- Look at the chart for Restaurant group..big blue chip fell off a cliff....which imho the chart readers would not have forewarned... chart lovers got nailed imho... while people looking at fundamentals would have seen it coming (I had shorted that share for example. P/E of 20 with no growth, madness, a crash was almost gteed imho) imho charts can give some useful info or feelings... but should not be relied on too much imho...especially for illiquid small caps ---- To avoid any doubt....I am an SPE fan and holder. | smithie6
29/9/2016 04:07 | bamboo2 - I am interested to start learning more about charting...any books that you would recommend? Cheers, Mick | mickharkins1

28/9/2016 17:19 | Smithie, I'm confused by your statement that charting is for fools. What evidence do you have for this? Have you tried any particular types of charting yourself and found it was bad for your trading and investment? Genuine question. I don't really do what is known as traditional TA, but will give any chart a considered and relatively experienced eye with a view to chart patterns and trends that occur in the historical information contained within it. If I can define the pattern, then I have a good chance of identifying entry points and price targets. If I don't use the chart, then I am just taking pot luck with the entry and exit. I have numerous recent examples. eg MCRO, KWS and others I'm constantly amazed at the anti-chart sentiment that exists on adfn, given that we are literally surrounded by them. apols for o/t | bamboo2
28/9/2016 10:15 | charting for small illiquid caps. with negligible buys/sells as % of the number of shares existing ...as if follow charting 'rules' 'applicable' to blue chip stocks... imho useful for general mood....such as a long term up trend or a down trend ..but otherwise ...for fools. --- Chart interpretation....th but after such a large % rise in short time....the chart can be volatile....and should not be relied on to dictate whether to buy or sell. | smithie6
27/9/2016 23:19 | Had a q look at chart, unfortunately it's not quite as positive as I first thought, in the near term. The longer term view is better. Looks like a small gap opened up this morning. On some charts gaps can act like magnets, and I guess this may be the case here, so watch for a retrace to cover the gap around 292.5. Once that is filled I will look to go long again. I can currently see potential for targets as high as approx 415 in the future. | bamboo2
27/9/2016 18:19 | Thanks Bamboo look forward to your chart. Trinko | trinko
27/9/2016 17:02 | bamboo - I find this charting to stuff hard to fathom given it seems unrelated to announcements/new contracts/lost clients etc etc, but you flagged up the gap and I have been caught by gaps before so it was very helpful; so thanks again bamboo | janeann
27/9/2016 16:45 | I might have to get my chart out again! A close above the recent high would potentially open up some very juicy targets. | bamboo2
27/9/2016 16:20 | Looks like a strong finish. News due? | chadders
27/9/2016 16:07 | Hope for £4 & higher ,stock seemed liked in demand this morning. Good luck to all investors | rem108
27/9/2016 12:40 | Yes great to be back over £3... | battlebus2
27/9/2016 10:50 | Going well again :) | cossie
22/9/2016 08:01 | Kicking on at the off this morning :)) | battlebus2
21/9/2016 22:43 | Wish I knew what I was looking at bamboo but I have to say from a non believer that there is definitely something in this charting especially in your capable hands. | battlebus2
21/9/2016 22:35 | Yesterdays candle filled the gap that was left during the recent rapid rise in share price I have marked it with a red circle and blue lines. This is good news for longs. cheers | bamboo2
21/9/2016 15:39 | But there was already a fall after that posting! Was a double one then | trinko
21/9/2016 11:43 | the fall was predicted by bamboo post 397 - thanks again - added a few more today. | janeann
21/9/2016 09:30 | Market makers have played a blinder here the past two days. Weak holders flushed out and the price marched back up again. Can't beat that for good business. | eagle eye
20/9/2016 22:31 | Rather disappointed today, although I think it's a wobble rather than a permanent fall. All financials point towards a price upwards of 330. I think the fall would have been sufficient to trigger stop losses therefore further flooding the market. We shall wait and see Ho hum! | mrbridgeruk
20/9/2016 21:22 | I bought may first tranch today. I saw it pointed out that the PE is 12.5 falling to 10 for the year ahead and possibly lower if the company beats forecasts as it has been doing. This translates to a PEG of 0.4 if they just meet forecasts. If they beat they are even cheaper. It's a fickle market at the moment with small investors leaping in and out, jumping from sector to sector. Only a matter of waiting for sentiment to return again and enjoy the rush to buy when valuation is focused upon rather than a jumpy chart. In profit already too by the way. | duncan doughnut
20/9/2016 20:39 | Yes well predicted bamboo2 , I think he suggested 240/250 so spot on. My buys at 270 not looking so smart now but long term we can only go higher imv...dyor | battlebus2
20/9/2016 20:35 | 190p fairly imminent | opodio
20/9/2016 13:31 | Added a few but missed he bottom. Pleased to see this spike down - I think bamboo predicted it a while back - well done/many thanks | janeann
20/9/2016 10:24 | Very illiquid so moves a lot on low volumes. Added a few at 240p. | wjccghcc |
