In simple terms why was the max it and new crest offer better than bhp? When they are less?

As Kdr says this is tier one potential with majors very interested evidently and the sole reason why I started to invest here at around 7.5p

However it held a very good uptrend channel this morning extending back to the beginning of the uplift in its share price in mid August.

There is so much potential with these assets. At the Aguinaga anomaly alone there was bornite at surface. Although it is not drilled yet, it is part of the plan and that is a shallow target compared to Alpala. The signs are there for multiple projects with varying degrees of capex; shallow being one clear advantage. BHP are already in Ecuador, in the south, so they will know the Andean copper belt well and the key projects. As per my previous posts, they are not the only majors operating in the region. With the stellar drill results, huge resources, tier one potential and the Ecuador government open for mining investment, one has to look forward and not at the infra-day moves.

Wouldnt bet my life savins on it but there are some who might. This will be back in the mid 20s May have to wait but it will happen. It is a question of PIs choosing their entry point It will be interesting to see if BHP are still interested. As for now all is well I believe and I am in now.

We do have the copious experience of Nick Mather and he has a large Solg holding, so I'm confident that he will get the best possible deal wherever it may come from. He will know what Solg is really worth, and what the margins will be after extraction costs. I doubt we could find a better negotiator for our interests.

One would be mad to turndown a deal with BHP. But at the same time the offer has to match the companies expectation.

Does the fact BHP weren't mentioned in RNS imply ongoing discussion?

It's already too low imo, BHP's cheeky offer is a good guide. Plenty of room for new entrants at these prices I would have thought.

It's often hard for pi's to evaluate accurately as projects progress but when BHP come along with offers like that at this stage, it makes it a lot easier.

If the trend line of the graph is anything to go by this should go to 17.5p?

Is there a link to the drilling programme?

The next main event is the continuation of drilling to see if commercial quantities of ore are near the surface. If so, then near surface resource can be exploited to underwrite the heavier costs of extracting the known resource deeper down. So wait for the results of yet more drilling, and perhaps we will also see a feasibility study, then we have something to measure as an investment. But those big miners would not be sticking their noses in unless they were sure there is something worth chasing here. If the resource gets proved up as we hope it will, then Solg really should be worth $ billions. Just a few more weeks of waiting.

The slight fall represents some of the early holders getting out with the profits of the last few weeks and was completely predictable; reassuringly, any stock appears to be being bought in volume, recognising the incredible value here and the solid foundations from the credible periodic assessments given by SOLG maintaining a positive trend as well as credibility with major global Players and investors. Within the next two weeks, all will be revealed IMO where we await the next waive of news, and developments of the ongoing discussions with 'other interested parties'...not to mention BHP Billiton likelihood of a counter offer. Some of the share price predictions presented on this board are completely ridiculous, however the price could conceivably be 0.40p+ within the next 4 weeks. Watching with interest...

Where do you get 33p from?

-- An offer by BHP to acquire a 10% interest in SolGold for US$30 million which implies a share issue price for SolGold of approximately US$0.22; or 18p

On what basis? topped up myself, BHP wouldn't value this at 33p per share without a reason. Even if this will drop to 15p they/other major might just consider buying it out
