GD,

Well when you take NT-3 5.6kms west it'll be the best bet for liquids that's for sure and it runs quite close to Likonde updip too, if it was residual oil at L-1 updip would be the place to look for oil migration. NT-2, fingers crossed, will be something similar to the NT-1 discovery well, only a much thicker section to test.

Regards,
Ed.

An oil discovery in time would be great!

Runway, whoppy,

I was a holder of AEX throughout drilling of L-1. The well was terminated due to significant gas/pressure influx at depth. The well did have both oil and gas shows in the returns. Its interesting that JB said in a recent interview presentation on Ntorya, something along the lines of NT-3 being a cretaceous target and every well drilled to this horizon in Tanz has been a discovery. So imo Likonde is very much unfinished business to these companies. What it would have flowed remains a mystery as it was never completed for testing, but gas was entering the bore on what should have been a balanced well. Impossible to tell if it were dry gas, gasification of oil under pressure (dependent on pressure and temp), wet gas or a condensate discovery unless tested and samples recovered. Likonde updip should imo be high on the agenda after N-3 imo. JB is also very confident that the further west you go on our licences the increased likelihood of an oil discovery.

Regards,
Ed.

Tullow were only interested in finding oil not gas. They just weren't interested in gas onshore. Likondie only had oil residue which is no good. All the oil onshore has been cooked, just like it has offshore. At best there will be condensate as in NT 1, along with hopefully plenty of gas.

Solo Oil & Gas Has certainly come a long way since its down hole pumping production from Canada, Solo held a stake in the Ruvuma basin assets which were apart of a joint venture partnership including Tullow Oil. The original well was drilled after a hugely successful campaign finding oil in Ghana however the well delivered gas and not oil which prompted Tullow’s exit. Aminex and Solo have continued to work on the assets although relationships have become tested at times, what we do know is after a number of years slogging it out the two companies have now managed to accrue assets with great potential

more from Fatboy Lenny

"Likondie-1 had oil shows above gas. Angus McCoss from Tullow changed news release night before to "plug&abondon" To disgust of JV partners"

"Tullow told me & Brian Hall they refused to give away their competitive advantage elsewhere in East Africa. We were furious!"

Likondie-1 well hit two sandstones with "oil &a gas" shows totalling 820 ft. Well stopped due to high influx of gas. @SoloOilplc RNS 1/4/10.

Looking forward to @SoloOilplc next well in Tanzania. I remember when Likondie-1 hit big oil shows above the gas but Tullow wanted it hushed

GD,

That would still be remarkably cheap for NT speculation! Cap is still a mere £20m, could see it double that imo before we get the results of NT-2, NR commented recently that NT-2 could add £70m to the cap here. Then speculation will build in for NT-3 and HH activity. Plus there will have to be some value to the production and KN-1 and the speculative upside for IoW and Nigeria. We could be on for a short term break out here very soon, Lvl2 is the strongest I've seen it since buying in here. Its currently 3 v 1 at 0.27 - 0.32, next market maker is on 0.36 the rest are on 0.37! The next decent volume day could see us at 0.4p. Market is not factoring in yet that this could be the second well on a potentially giant field, next two wells, will prove or disprove that. Given the tiny cap we really haven't started to move yet imo. Gonna be a very exciting 8 weeks as we drill NT and move HH forward toward LPT.

Regards,
Ed.

Proactive weekly oil news -Solo Oil PLC (LON:SOLO) investors had reason to cheer as the week began when chairman Neil Ritson revealed he was excited about the upcoming drilling in Tanzania where the company is partnered by Aminex.Aminex told investors that drilling will get underway soon for the Ntorya-2 appraisal well.Solo Oil's partner is the operator and 75% stakeholder in Ntorya, and it said that an independent inspection of the contracted drill rig has now been completed and the project is scheduled to start in mid-December.Ntorya-2 is to be located some 1.5 kilometres from the original Ntorya discovery well, which was at the fringes of the reservoir. The well is designed to test the reservoir up-dip where the feature is believed to be thicker. The new programme's second well, Ntorya-3, is currently planned to be a further step-out - it will be 5km from the original Ntorya well – at what has been modelled and seen in seismic to be the thickest part of the reservoir.

this step out is only 1.5km from the first well....

seems to me theyre virtually guaranteeing a hit in order to finance the third well.

ignore the noise and hold tight. This move is only just warming up.

placing for the third well will be done at far higher prices imo.

im looking for .70s to .80s gl
