ACORN
Yes
this has been documented
could be 7p/share although no doubt the share price would fall afterwards and a share consolidation would be part of the transaction

Gerry

Maybe you could copy my post below and add it into the header under the news tab.
This would let any potential new investors know what thecompany is all about...

Hi Gerry

I cant add the charts etc.
As far as i know its only you who can modify the header as you created it.

I thought all you had to do to add the charts etc was to check the boxes of which options you wanted to add to the header when starting the thread.
If you cant add them now then you could start a new thread and copy your post 1 into the new thread.

Its just i feel the charts with news etc are good in the header but it is YOUR THREAD, your choice.

Time to share

Apart from this occasion I dont plan to read the other thread or respond to posts on it
re your two points

1.Actually I do mean 2009 as I`ve come to realise that although SMG are an excellent turnaround candidate the general market conditions will have an impact
2. I dont know how to do the items you mention so I cant put them in the header
at the minute
if you know how to and can do so yourself please do so
If I need to do it then please post what I need to do

Gerry

I do pop in ocasionally to read the bb`s although i dont post very often..

I appreciate you starting a new thread (and im all for it) but could you put in the charts, news and maybe daily volume indicator, considering the amount of shares traded today we might be on the move.
Also your heading ...2009? i trust you meant 2008.

Still a holder.

........Well
If the whole of SMG is worth 15p/share and Virgin wont be sold below £100m
this suggests the rest of the Co is worth £35m........thats getting to the stage where a big advertiser might as well buy the TV Station since he could get over 4000 minutes pa of advertising for a one off capital cost of under £1000/min .......makes you think
The MD of SMG certainly thinks 15p is well undervalued and he has a track record in the media......His financial future is well locked into turning round the business and no doubt he had an eye on the share price impact when he decided to bite the bullet and go for a rights issue rather than sell Virgin Radio at a distress price.....

Rob Woodward dependency on improving the share price is shown below....It is mirrored to a lesser extent obviously in the incentive plan for the other Directors
ie
4 July 2007 Rob Woodward bought 75000 shares at 52.5p
12 July 2007 Rob Woodward granted options on 2,235,294 shares
at 51.5p
Woodwards buy price pre rights of 52.5p is equivalent to an share price of 27.5p so although it is a modest investment he doesnt even break even on this recent purchase until the share price returns to 27.5p
likewise his options are worthless until the share price reaches 27.16
The terms of these options adjusted for the rights issue are that Woodward can exercise pro rata up to 33% of the option ie 745098 options if the share price has exceeded 30p up to 43.3p in the 30 days leading up to 12 July 2008 with a further 74098 options released if the share price has averaged 36.67p up to 50p in the 30 days leading up to 12 July 2009 with a further 74098 options released if the share price has averaged 43.33p up 56.67p in the 30 days leading up to 12 July 2010
With the share price so far below where it was expected to be post rights I would like to see RW and his Board investing 6 figure sums in the business.....This would demonstrate confidence in the immediate future......

So
assuming things dont go to plan ....which they rarely do
Wodward will fail to get the share price up and over 30p by july 2008
But
will do so by July 2009 thus enabling him to exercise some of his options around 3 yrs after taking over
Hence the fairly modest headline
SMG 30p by July 2009
still a 100% rise in 18 months which cant be bad in a recession

Well with this latest holdings announcement I make it 682.1m shares held by 18 big owners or funds out of a total of 951m ......around 72% This augurs well for the future sincethe free market will be more responsive to good news when there is relatively limited stock....It also demonstrates confidence in a turnaround
gerry321
21/12/2007
18:25
well thats around 40% of the underwriting volume gone at 15p.........At this rate we can expect some more announcements..... the share price is unlikely to motor
until the balance of underwritten shares are in the hands of long term holders

I did read somewhere that the media stocks were a haven in a recession..........and given that all current holders of SMG are probably sitting on a loss the share price could probably only go one way ....although I`m surprised its moved so quickly....

you say 15p is undervalued
but if they come with results that show that the business/advertising market is not getting better, share price could go lower still.
(combined with selling pressure from shareholders that are holding too many shares after the share issue?)

we need good operational news the coming months -- any views on this? how is the turnaround at stv going, and is virgin radio still going strong?
