Jimmy, I think the idea of raising £15m via the placing was to get the debt down and provide enough working capital for the medium term. I was surprised to read that the offer was fully underwritten.

I held a small number of shares recently and have received communication offering me new shares at 8p each. A small dampener is that I can now buy them through KBC at 7.25p.

One to avoid, at least until any overhang caused by the new shares is cleared out I think.

I'd be very worried if i held any of these from what i'm hearing. Not rocket science to see that banks will pull the plug rather than risk more debt. Suspension coming??

Hmm, the announcement today seems to have underwhelmed shareholders, judging by the complete lack of comment so far. I suppose it is only 30 minutes! What do people think of it? Slightly higher price than some people had been suggesting.

Personally I still believe that SMC does have a fighting chance of recovering, but it is going to take at least a couple of years.

IMO creative companies such as these should not be on the stock market.

Better to grow slowly under your own steam than expand quickly and go to the wall.

Would be a great shame, cool_hand, as they ought to be both profitable and cash-generative by now. But it's not a great time to be looking around for debt finance. I've always thought they had to stump up with an equity contribution, and that requirement may now have grown. The consequent dilution ain't going to be pretty.

The other route of course is to flog bits of the business off, but I don't know how feasible or rewarding that's going to be.

their problem is not the work, they have plenty of that, the problem is debt - they are up to their eyeballs in it. in the longer term my guess is they either go broke or the company is broken up. £2 to 8p in 12 months that's not rocket science.

Check out what the auditors said in the recent results. Every business requires working capital.

Hard to see how they can possibly lose money or why they need more, this line of business isn't rocket science and the work is plentiful.

Don't hold but know someone who works for them.

I hope nobody else chases this higher !

There will be a fundraising where the directors will allow themselves
to buy loads of new stock well below the current price, maybe 5p because
you just know it's going to happen.

I see the thread has just a pump and dumper left on it...W47 will ramp
just about every bit of trash on Aim you can find.
