Thats an old deal as I'm sure you know.Silence are underperforming now;I presume the CEO ,Ali Mortazavi,who is one of Britain's finest championship chess players known for his "swindle" has a plan.The shares are now underperforming the sector and with Tekmira jumping the past few days it makes Silence very cheap.

Anyway, I just saw this - it surprised me given their deal with SLN

AstraZeneca Agrees Pact With Moderna to Develop RNA Therapeutics
《DailyEconomic》 2013-03-21 21:33:51 Biopharmaceutical business AstraZeneca PLC (AZN) Thursday announce an exclusive agreement with Moderna Therapeutics to discover, develop and commercialize pioneering messenger RNA therapeutics(TM) for the treatment of serious cardiovascular, metabolic and renal diseases as well as cancer.


MAIN FACTS:

-Under the agreement, AstraZeneca will make an upfront payment of $240 million.

-AstraZeneca will have exclusive access to select any target of its choice in cardiometabolic diseases, as well as selected targets in oncology, over a period of up to five years for subsequent development of messenger RNA.

-In addition, Moderna is entitled to an additional $180 million for the achievement of three technical milestones.

-AstraZeneca has the option to select up to 40 drug products for clinical development and Moderna will be entitled to development and commercial milestone payments as well as royalties on drug sales ranging from high single digits to low double digits for each product.

-AstraZeneca will lead the preclinical, clinical development and commercialization of therapeutics resulting from the agreement and Moderna will be responsible for designing and manufacturing the messenger RNA against selected targets.

-AstraZeneca shares closed Wednesday at 3040 pence valuing the company at 37.94 billion pounds.

Rikky you gotta expect some profit taking, especially going from below 2 to nearly 3 in last couple of weeks. Surprised it didn't dip sooner, so maybe a few more hangers on this time? IMO. Eag

5.4p in old money, so getting back to levels seen earlier in the year! A four bagger from here could see me walk off a fairly happy chappy. You never ever know?

But it is good to see for all the old LT's who have stuck around.

Wow nice from what I have heard. About 250 miles south of Perth, so might be a touch less expensive? Still nothing inexpensive when there's 5 of you. But it'll be a great trip I'm sure. :)

Hi Eagle....not for a year...theyre deciding on the date in the near future so Sln has some time to help me fund it...quite expensive for 5 of us!! We're going to the Peaceful Bay area :-)
