The other point to make about SIG is the rising gold price.
This will squeeze margins, and may also depress demand for 'cheap' jewelery.
An increase in working capital is also required to maintain stock levels.

It was dificult to undertand you point, but got it at the end, you are ( were ) a bit suspicious, not my cup of tea to cheat, one devalues oneself.

This is a SIG thread first so I will make it short my explanation and that will be the lot for FWY in this thread thanks.

Had it in the watch list since tuesday lunch time, this morning open higher on the offer and after one small deal move on the bid, till decided to check again the charts, looks good, decided was time to buy, did so write down the orders after done the deal, share price was 38-39p, click free BB, then click UPS, and then type the recomendation, I realised of a spelling mistake edited again, cheched top list volume shares and then went to monitor and yes voila the price was 38-40p by then.

LONDON (AFX) - Goldsmiths Group PLC, the jewellery retailer, said
like-for-like sales were flat in the four weeks to Christmas Eve, with total
sales for the period showing a rise of 1.1 pct.
Sales for the year to Dec 24 were up 4.8 pct in total and 4 pct on a
like-for-like basis.
Chairman and chief executive Jurek Piasecki said: "In view of the last three
years' very strong like-for-like performances (up 47.3 pct over the three years)
we consider this year's result to be extremely creditable in a tough retail
environment."
He said 2002 had started strongly but slowed in May and this trend continued
through the course of the year.
"November was disappointing with sales being fractionally down on the
previous year. December started very slowly but, with a late rush on the two
days before Christmas, much of the deficit was clawed back," he said.
Geographically, the London Area performed worst with the M62 corridor
performing best and both sales volumes and average prices were in line with last
year, he added.

One for today Fayrewood FWY 38-39p and ready to move forward much more.

THIS IS VERY AMMUSING STATMENT ABOVE BY THE MASTER. FUNNY THING IS THE TIME OF THE POST. 8:36AM. NOW I WAS NOT LOOKING AT THE PRICE FOR FWY AT THIS TIME.

BUT ITS FUNNY HOW THE TIME YOU POSTED AT WAS EITHER JUST AFTER THE RISE OF THE OFFER TO 40P OR BEFORE WHEN IT WAS AT 39P.

NOW U WOULDNT BE TRYING TO TAKE THE CREDIT FOR WHAT THE REAL FAYREWOOD GANG HAVE BEEN ONTO FOR AGES WOULD YOU MASTER?

I BET IT WAS AT 38-40 WHEN YOU POSTED.

-"My main point at the moment is with the charts, the signals are very clear with all the Indicators at the bottom (oversold position) and now rising, the shares now @ 70p are following the same way, and doing the same bounce as in early October and Mid November."-

LOL....Well done Master GIZ...You called the TOP very well indeed..buy high, sell low!

The master said this on his thread:
"Master RSI - 27 Dec'02 - 10:26 - 12 of 12
FWY is going places now 41-42p + 4.5p and is getting more bullish as the share price rises, and going though the 20 day moving average."

He likes the look of these too. Should do wonders for our price. Just thought I would share the masters knowledge with you lot.

Master RSI is a trade mark so any copy to someone else is just fantasy at Christmas time or weird on you thoughts, I been long enough with a solo name to do anything else now.

But weird in you part to mention someone else nick name at the Head thread.

Worst Christmas sales in 30 years!

-"A last-minute shopping surge on the final weekend before Christmas failed to give a boost to retailers as consumers concerned about the economy and jobs curtailed spending, analysts said."- Bloomberg

I note that SIG volume was much better than most today...and on the DOWNside. A large agency cross at 67p.

I maintain my 60p short term target.

me_cynic,

Congrat's on your profits...You sound like a sensible sort of chap!!

Combining a buy&hold strategy with the charts...very refreshing! Being able to correct mistakes/take losses quickly is IMO the cornerstone of profitable trading/investment, whatever your timescale.

For what it's worth I think these may bottom around their post Sept 11th low (52ish from memory)...The recent break of the rectangle pattern at 75p targets 61 as a minimum. I'll close half my short there and run the rest over the Jan trading statement.

PS: Bought my girlfiend a nice ring&bracelet from the "Hot Diamonds" collection...from Farringtons..NOT H Samuel!!

Trading has confirmed my concerns that premature calling SIG a buy at 70p and risky piling in at 70/71 when the possibility/probably remained that could buy cheaper.SIG was trading to new lows,70p was a support and now resistance.Due a bounce & trade as seen from low 60's with resistance @ 70p.Profess no expertise with preference to buy at/or near bottom.imho,dyor.
