Negative press.Share price trading to lower lows. Chart suggests to me possible worse case scenario 50p-60p with 59p posted as possible target price.Watching and waiting until shorters have done their worst.IF 70p broken may consider taking punts in low 60's.I'll bow to goodfella's call on this one.imho.

Master RSI and/or Master SIR

Only grouch if there were one, is the fact that you have posted retrospectively after the event,i.e much later after you yourself had bought 64/65 ish?,share price already risen,market closed.This thread opened when share price risen to 70p which subsequently fell back and closed sub 70p today. i.e in hindsight, ideal time to get in was when you did.

Obviously congrats to you on buying at bottom and sitting on profits.SIG like many others is there to be traded.imho.dyor.

EDIT 8.30pm.: 70p support on the way down;70p resistance on the way up.Something to consider buying on the possible dips,69.5p or less before diving in 70-71. Shares never one way bet so there is always possibility of downside this side of 70p.Zale Corp(ZLC) trading $32.4-£32.98 currently up by 0.1%. Yes i do trade SIG.

Share price rose this time 2000 & 2001.Down on slower retail fears.Fourth quarter includes 70% of co. trading and therefore US important as far as earninigs/profits and not fogetting share price.imho.dyor

lol...would you care to point out to us "non masters" exactly WHICH indicators on your incorrect advfn charts are giving bullish signals?

What "other facilities" are you using oh Lord Master?

Would it involve gypsies and crystal balls by any chance???

Fair enough, but I don't think ADVFN ever changed it. I'd use the Prophet one if I were you.

Your link is about their site was not working properly back in JULY 02, nothing to do now, as you know many times nothing is working at all, but I do have many other facilities to check with, but it is apropiate to use advfn chart for our own benefit.

Do not spread rumour that are not true we are here to make money, and that is the best way to help each other, at least that is the way I see it.

I do not go just with the Indicators RSI,but the rest of Indicators at the same time, the more are pointing the way up the better, and at the moment, it seems all are pointing the buy way.

I am posting another chart from Prophet, and as you can see though I set it with RSI for 14 days is giving the same signals than the one i set for 21 days with advfn reaching a bottom and now rising.

I put also Bollinger bars(pink colour), and also giving the same signal to buy

Bollinger bars gives the signal to BUY when the share price is touching the lower bar, and SELL when reached the top line (just in case you do not know).

Even MACD, (that gives a late signal the black line) is going horizontal now and going to turn up that is also a BUY signal .

Put all this signals together, and compare it with other times that did the same and I have reached the BUY conclution.

Use same settings:

*14 period

*Simple smoothing ie. Av' of 14 days UP closes/Av' 14 days DOWN closes

*Compare charts

See for yourself mate!

Would be slightly cautious about using these technical indicators-the chart is bearish with a series lower "highs" and lower "lows".Agree that this share is currently oversold and the shares look overdue for a rally but don't expect any more than a 50% retracement to around 78 pence!

Every share moves in diferent way with the Indicator RSI, in Signet only moves from 30 oversold to 70 overbought, and never gives bullish signals at 50 as you are saying.

You are losing the plot in this one because, is not one Indicator, but 3 of them at the same time at that is very bullish.

I put my points for the reason why is a buy you have not done your reseach properly.

The Indicators are there to give you guidance on the future, its up to you to learn how to interpret them, I would sugest you learn about them if you want to make money instead than just go for luck. They are giving the same signals in early October and Mid November.

None of those indicators are bullish.

RSI can stay oversold for long periods as the price continues to fall...Look at July as an example. A bullish signal is only triggered when it crosses 50.

Since yesterday I am trying to say that the shares went down too much and now they are having a turn around . That was at the other thread, but it is a shorters thread, so I am opening this one.

Plenty said for Christmas trading, but SIG is still growing in sales in US & UK at the last 3er Q.

My main point at the moment is about the charts, the signals are very clear with all the Indicators at the bottom (oversold position) and now rising, the shares now @ 70p are following the same way, and doing the same bounce as in early October and Mid November.
Company update 9/1/03 Group like for like sales increased by 4.2% in the eight week period to 24 December 2002. And by 5.5% for the 48 weeks to 4/1/03.
For the 8 weeks to 31/12/02 US sales increased by 4.7% and UK increased by 4.1%.
Group profit before tax for the Year should exceed current market expectations.

edit - 11 SEP 08 - The primary listing is now on NYSE, the shares have been de-listed in London but is a secondary listing at the same time there was a 1 for 20 share consolidation
