tks for that info
news came

Financial Investor Terra Firma has hired investment banks JP Morgan and Morgan Stanley (MS) to advise on the initial public offering of Germany's largest real estate landlord, Deutsche Annington, in what is set to be the country's biggest IPO in more than five years.

The IPO of Deutsche Annington Immobilien SE could happen as early as the third quarter, two people familiar with the matter said Thursday. The owner of the company, Guy Hands' Terra Firma Capital Partners Ltd., isn't expected to exit the company completely, but to sell small stakes in several steps, these people said.

Hezza123 not sure if there is three or one using variations of the same name to slow down those copying the trades:)

If you know otherwise please explain how they can be deferentiated.

Crikey, I didn't realise there were 'three' Nick Greenwoods. I assumed they were one and the same, although had a few doubts after re-reading the 'Owen' chapter in Free Capital. All has become clearer! Duh.

So, yes, good news that NJG has been adding at these levels. :-)

P - the RNS stated a top-up from 3.65m to 3.9m - taking him through the 5% level - hence the disclosure. However I am unable to find any previous announcement of his 3.65m holding (4.8%).

Incidentally - that "Holding" RNS yesterday showed a top-up. Anyone know when he made his first purchase? If not then I'll go and search...

DVI - We Nick Greenwood's hunt in packs!

When I met NJG he was then younger than me; and I expect he must still be so,,,

He is a former merchant banker turned VERY successful private investor - I believe him to be OWEN in that excellent book FREE CAPITAL by Guy Thomas. He is c48y/o.

He is a great BUY indicator.

His namesake has also got a holding via Miton Worldwide Growth. I think that makes it three Nick Greenwood's holding the stock...bizarre.

I would also support a hedging policy, especially following the recent fall in sterling.

Praipus. I have asked them to start hedging currency but I am in a minority so it is not going to happen. However, when assets are sold the proceeds will be moved to sterling.

Greenwood was in insurance but is now retired (66) and looks to be a full time investor. See below some chunky stakes he has taken in companies in the past.

How could you hedge a position in Sigg?

I will need to do some more digging but he looks pretty serious and it is normal for him to take large stakes in the companies he buys. I wouldn't be shocked if he knocked Weiss below 10% if they continue to sell.

Nav could now be 99.3p due to sterling weakness today. Interesting times.

Exactly bad time, just the opposite. Weiss piled in hoping to make a quick buck by winding up early but they didn't understand the issues. On this occasion, theirs is not the clever money as seemingly every day they are selling a bit more at a higher level to reflect an improvement in underlying value. So they buy in as high as, what 75p?, and then have been selling as low as 52.5p. Baby and bath water springs to mind!

Hmm who knows.

Take a look at the other major shareholders and ask yourself which ones are trying to make a return and which ones would be happy just to get out and keep their jobs.

But then Praps just because Weiss have sold down there holding is not necessarily a reason to tread lightly

According to my very approximate guessing Weiss have up to 1.24% of their assets here but probably less than 1%! My calculations do not include their US holdings. Their last trade was a sell so IMHO if you are a buyer here tread lightly.
