European workers leaving Sierra Leone due to spread of Ebola virus. Could this affect SRX adversely?

Pala are turn around specialists. They have done imo what they set out to achieve and have a very healthy stake in a stable company, in a stable environment, with costs under control and if anything still falling and products whose sale prices should increase which is what as far as I can see, Pala expects.

I expect Pala to wring every ounce of value from this investment.

I agree with that. I assumed that the talks had stalled(probably over price) and I am therefore not surprised at the RNS or the markets reaction to it.

With every week that goes by and a new revelation of the crooked behaviour of the way the market players behave seemingly as a matter course, I wouldnt put it past the interested party to do all they can to make their offer(whatever it was) look more attractive to the board.

Expect stormy weather

After about 6 months, it was obvious that the takeover talks were over.

Unless a seriously high offer - 150p or so - had been received, then value would not have been received.

A good Board decision.

New presentation on Sierra Rutile website:

hxxp://www.sierra-rutile.com/uploads/srxinvestorpresentationfinal[0].pdf

Makes very pleasant reading especially the future expected cash generation for 2015 and 2016.

juicy margins indeed if the share price returns to $2000+.

More proof of a well-run, industry leader. Their business model is to be leaner and more efficient than their competitors. Thus they are able to maintain profitability despite a collapse in the rutile price (partially caused itself by Sierra Rutile upping output into a weak market).
They are crushing the opposition.

ah but cost curve per tonne approaching $500 bucks
if they can get under 500 that would be special -others cant compete during slide in rutile prices where as srx are amongst class leading, as well as cleanest rutile product :-)

Yet they still managed to make a small profit.

brechin:

$1044 p tonne for rutile from the accounts, average for the whole of the year....

compared to $2500 for Q1 the year before.

thats some softening!!!

Just to clarify - when I talk about gearing, I mean the gearing effect on profits given the fixed nature of most of the costs!

OK results in the circumstances but no mention of the dividend or the takeover approach.

This is definitely a class company but patience will be required until rutile prices improve. The gearing then will be immense.

Special Divi was touted a while back now Bossman- Since Rutile price went spongey etc etc -unlikely at this time. Im curious why discussions with suitor are taking so long? share price reflecting this to some degree?
If discussions havent crystalised to anything will they tell us? or just post into accounts/interims when next released.??
Corbs :-)

Has anyone any update on this share. Hasn't been much action for a long time. Was there not talk about a special dividend at one point?
