RDSB would be best holding off now and re-visiting the deal in 12 months.

The RBS note is interesting, but tbh a 20% fall in equity markets is neither here nor there. Just be a buying opportunity for quality stocks.

SogoesitIt was a oil expert on CNBC, who said the strippper wells will close down, not go bust but will stop producing with oil at this level. He said 1m barrels a day will be taken out. Then of course brown stuff will hit the fan in US shale this year.Saudi plan working.

Expert said, it not shale to go bust first, but the small nodding donkeys producing approx 5 plus barrels a day, thousands of these all over US. This will take 1m barrels a day out. Then 30% of shale will go.Saudi plan seems to be working to put US oil out of business.

It's hardly as bleak as some would have you believe.

Oilprice.com points out Iran doesn't seem so keen on a price war now.

Says this is perhaps because they now realise they would get less revenue from 1.5m bopd at $30 than 1m bopd at $45. Or it says because they can't actually produce the extra oil they initially claimed.

Was Iran’s Claim About Ramping Up Oil Production Just Hype?

Also. IEA/Bloomberg says U.S. Shale is set to lose as much output as a small OPEC member.

"Volume from the seven major shale regions in the U.S. will drop by 116,000 barrels a day in February, contributing to a drop of about 640,000 barrels a day since the end of last March, according to the U.S, Energy Information Administration."

Shale Patch About to Lose Oil Output Equivalent to OPEC Member

I want to buy this share for the strong dividend (I'd be happy with half its current dividend yield compared to return in savings accounts). However as I go to press the buy button it just keeps getting cheaper!!when should I get in again? where is the bottom?

'Cos they want to get squared away before they pass on the news to us mugs, maybe?

I think it's very difficult to call a top; easier to call a bottom... pile in to the good stocks when you see it (like 2009).
Good luck!

There is no way it would go to a vote imv if Shell thought they could not
get the required %, deal would be pulled beforehand.
