11/1/2016 16:12 | monty - verbal diarrhoea, therefore, back on filter you go. | ianood
11/1/2016 16:04 | Ess Great buy. Shell down 35% since bid annouced. | montyhedge
11/1/2016 16:04 | Holt They will, CEO wants this to go through otherwise his falls on his sword. But for shareholders who own the company, directors don't, its a crazy price now oil $32 and going to $27. | montyhedge
11/1/2016 16:03 | Small amount at 13.509 | essentialinvestor
11/1/2016 16:01 | Well that is refreshing to see an insti changing its view on deal , although the huge decline in oil has changed everything you could still argue long term view , be interesting to see if others now take another look . | holts
11/1/2016 15:19 | Shareprice when bid made 2150p, now 1359p, not such a great deal. CEO would fall on his sword if deal off, thats why his pushing for this crazy deal to go ahead. At least Standard Life seen the light. | montyhedge
11/1/2016 14:47 | The dividend payment is small banana if you bought in higher up. I prefer sse and Engie for yield. Shell needs to ditch bg deal for me to be a long term buyer. | wipo1
11/1/2016 14:26 | £5000 dividend tax free from 5th April, nice. | montyhedge
11/1/2016 13:09 | This is fine and everyone is entitled to their opinion. I was more referring to your constant posting of this same opinion several times a day. My opinion is that the oil price is at somewhat unrealistic long term levels currently. The bid was put together based on a longer time frame than this day, week, month or year. I am a holder, although only recently joining. I am happy to be a holder medium - long term depending on share price and company performance. The yield is good and I can sit back and let compounding get to work :) | haywards26
11/1/2016 12:55 | Hayward With all due respect you don't know what you are talking about. I doubt you are a shareholder. Break even for deal to work around $60-$63, when deal was struck, we all liked the deal back in May. Standard Life change their minds so have I simple. CEO I would imagine would have to step down if this deal was voted NO. All we can do is wait until voting day. In the meantime collect a nice dividend. | montyhedge
11/1/2016 12:36 | Monty, with respect you sound like a broken record/trader rather than an investor. The deal in my view will not fail. The Shell bod will have been in constant dialogue with their big institutions before and since the bid went formal all those months ago. Without shareholder backing the bid would not have gone as far as it has. The bid calculation will be based on decades of variables, not just the current spot price of oil. | haywards26
11/1/2016 11:46 | monty - "I will vote NO." Mine are in nominee account and I have to ask broker to send me stuff, don't have time to do all that, also undecided about deal, and of course my paltry holding ain't gonna change anything LoL. | losos
11/1/2016 11:40 | Loso Your right, £5000 tax free. But Shell could bid again in 12 months at 20% less. BG holders would still take it. Directors do not own the company we do. I will vote NO. Lets hope some of the other big funds like Standard change their mind as well. | montyhedge
11/1/2016 11:35 | monty - "Yes, sit back and collect 8.5%, £5000 tax free next year. With the new rules on dividends." £10,000 if you are lucky enough to be married LoL mind you I am having to give my wife some of my shares, that hurts ha ha. | losos
11/1/2016 10:57 | Lasts weeks additional buy a tad premature it seems. BP, with all its problems, seems to be holding up relatively well - so this is a specific to Shell. Poo isnt helping of course | fangorn2
11/1/2016 10:55 | EI ...what's your next buying price? | badtime |
