Problem is that this is only a 4.5% dividend if you bought at this price. I am considering buying some more SKS on any further weakness and averaging down.

I would love to say the huge trade volume is because the price is such a screaming buy that institutions have now recognised this and are buying in for some more consolidation in this sector.
10 million shares out of 397,463,413 ordinary 10 pence shares is 2.5% so maybe an RNS is overdue
However it does seem to be wishful thinking from a current holder. Until European economy recovers this may drift on for a while. The 4.5% divi yield makes this slightly less painful to hold

Pennon Group:
It still remains independent but was weakened considerably in November by a shock profits warning from Viridor.
Its share price disappeared down the drain to trade below £6.
Unregulated Viridor, which collects waste that it recycles, composts and treats, warned that full-year profits would be below market expectations and some 30 per cent lower than the previous year because of falling prices for recycled materials known as recyclate.
Recyclate revenues per tonne have rallied a bit from the lows of October/November, but remain significantly below early 2012 levels.


BIFFA:
Waste removal firm Biffa made a £978million loss in 2011-12 after taking a £900million writedown because of falling revenues.
The company's accounts said the write-down reflected 'lower volumes of waste generation in industry', as well as weaker recycled-commodity prices.
It said: 'The deep recession has continued to suppress volumes of waste generated, and the competition to maintain activity levels has resulted in margin pressure being experienced in most parts of the business.'

A couple more pence down will persuade me to add.To my simplistic view , this company has weathered the recession and has a good market position to enjoy the eventual recovery.

Don't know about your shares but mine went down on Friday 1 March. Irrespective of your drawings shares will only follow fundamentals & sentiment based on fundamentals. SKS needs to demonstrate reasons to be cheerful to attract investment.

At the same time the recent drop indicates that a certain amount of turmoil is already factored in. So any further drop would be a long term opportunity

I guess the share price is going to be fairly static now until we get nearer next results update or there is a real turnround in European GDP
Most of the broker targets would be nice to see but as ever no timescale on them so a bit meaningless
Anyone think its feasible another company will swoop in whilst the price is low, or is that wishful thinking ?
I have always believed there is considerable scope in the sector for more consolidation to give scale and better chance of raising capital for unvestment
