As a matter of fact divina it was what I now realise was unashamed ramping from 'investors' such as yourself that encouraged me to buy sen in the first place!

It closed yesterday at the mid price between 0.50 and 2.00 pence, at 1.25p. That's how they did it. However, looking at the trades for the day, there were not many sellers. Instead much of yesterday's volume of almost 1million shares were buys.

The best way for punters to deal with this, if the price is artificially low just to get a deeply discounted rights issue off the ground, is to buy (although the spread doesn't make it easy).

Trouble is if the AFX rumour is correct, the institutions can easily cover any purchases made at 2p with their placing shares at 1p and still come out with an immediate profit of 100%.

Level playing field? Promoting confidence in financial markets?

Maybe this is the only way to get issues off the ground these days - who knows.

I still think they need a minimum £10M to pay off current debt and then to fund further investment.

So that's how they get the Share Price down to the 1p level.

Guess what folks, it closed today at just over 1p - 0.50p to sell; 2.00p to buy.

Getting awfully near that 1p placing price that the AFX today mentioned.

Unless there are a hell of a lot of brave punters out there who can spot a bargain.

as soon as the big boys have their cheap shares, this will be back up to 5p before you can hit your buy button.

LONDON (AFX) - Screen PLC confirmed it is at an advanced stage of
discussions with potential institutional and other investors concerning a
significant injection of new equity capital into the company.
The company added that should negotiations continue to progress favourably,
it hopes to make a further announcement by the end of this month.
Earlier there were rumours that the AIM-listed surveillance technology
company is about to launch a heavily discounted cash call.
The company added that it continues to operate within its existing banking
facilities, and that trading at an operating level is in line with expectations.

can someone explain this averaging down malarkey

i have 7500 0f these @ 76p

if i buy 30000 more @ 2p (say) that will be £600

so my total holding will then be 37500 at a total cost of £6000

which works out @ 16 p a share

is this correct?

ps i am not responsible lad in disguise!

LONDON (AFX) - Sellers had a go at Screen, 0.25 adrift at 1.87 pence, amid
talk that the AIM-listed surveillance technology company is about to launch a
heavily discounted cash call.
Speculation has it that a rights issue will be pitched at the 1 pence level
as the company seeks to cut debt.

Good luck you long termers
