19/8/2008 15:09 | Company History David Marks founded SectorGuard in 1998 to satisfy the growing market demand for a security service provider that placed equal emphasis on security and service. As a Chartered Accountant with a successful track record in the facilities management sector, David was seeking to bring a high level of professionalism to all aspects of the business in this highly fragmented area. Since 1998 the business has expanded steadily through organic growth and by following a careful acquisition programme so that today it employs in excess of 700 personnel and provides a total security solution for its clients. The services offered to clients range from the provision of static and mobile security officers to the supply, installation and maintenance of electronic fire and security systems including: access control; asset tagging; cctv; and fire and intruder alarms. SectorGuard's clients range from private residential to major corporations and include local authorities and educational establishments where it has established itself as a leading supplier of security services. SectorGuard prides itself on building long-term relationships with its clients through a stable, highly trained and reliable workforce placing great emphasis on quality of service and a pro-active approach to client liaison. In March 2002 SectorGuard re-registered as a public limited company and floated on the Alternative Investment Market ("AIM") of the London Stock Exchange. The flotation raised the profile of the company as well as providing funds for further acquisitions and facilitated the expansion from being a manned guarding business into a total security solutions provider. The flotation on AIM also allowed the company to put in place its innovative share option scheme that grants options to all employees, from security officers and engineers to senior management each year. This scheme makes all employees stakeholders in SectorGuard and provides them with a long-term incentive for participating in the on-going growth of the business, making them more personally accountable for their actions. SectorGuard's growth in financial terms reflects the development of its internal quality control systems where it complies with all relevant British Standards and is accredited with ISO 9001:2000 in relation to its manned guarding, mobile patrol, keyholding, intruder alarm, cctv and access control services. SectorGuard also qualified for and was awarded Approved Contractor status by the Security Industry Authority ("SIA") on 20 March 2006, the first day the scheme was open to registration. This dedication to maintaining high quality standards and driving up the standards within the security industry in general has led to the company being represented on various committees within both the regulatory body, the SIA, and the trade association, the British Security Industry Association. | knowing | |

19/8/2008 08:45 | Wotcher mate, hope all OK with you, SGD looks like its about to give a pretty dramatic statement with this years figures, they have certainly gained a hell of a lot of new custom and they do like to give a divvy if poss. SectorGuard has grown its turnover year on year since 1998 and this trend is expected to continue. The Company has invested significantly in expansion initiatives, such as increased marketing, which are now paying dividends in the form of strong current trading and future pipeline. The acquisitions made over the last two years have been integrated successfully, widening the geographic reach of the business and contributing to the Company's financial performance. | squiresquire |
