PastaSource,

I would say your 'somewhat disappointed' demo impressions differ to the vast majority of opinions I have read in all the forums I have visited to check how the demo went down, overall they seem very impressed by the demo.

Statement echoes an FT article. It is a trading ploy which says "we are not desparate buyers and will buy only at sensible prices".

this morning's statement is just plain weird....why an RNS about it..does it not go without saying that they can buy shares whenever they want subject to terms?

it is like saying we will buy shares when we want not when you tell us....weird

TRU demo on XBox Live!

Don't have a retail XBox360 at work to try it out on, anyone had a look yet?

sci always seems to drop when the market rallies like this. I've always seen it as a contrarian share like that. Could of done with some hype in the press over the TW deal I guess.

With a lot of the sales done in America around now and the $ to £ being what it is, surely this is very good news for SCi

french had no money. would have been share swap only.

and Nigel didn't say he was put off, only that the statement wasn't as exciting as he thought on first reading, which is correct.

Nigel

Can't understand why announcement put you off buying shares. Pretty sure this means the pre sales are good, otherwise why would TW start buying again. Agree with your comment re TR. I am sure bid price was agreed months ago - that is why they turned down 89p from the french

they had a standstill until 25/1/09. Which is in a few weeks time anyway. This allows TW to buy shares from Iceland, which is good for share price in meantime, mildly.

I got quite excited when I (mis)read this RNS, and almost bought some. I didn't notice at first that they were simply drawing attention to an agreement that was already in place. My guess now is that they put this agreement in place reckoning that they wanted to know how well TR (at least) was doing before Warner could bid.

It might partly explain why they didn't slip TR to a quieter time of year, as Darren perhaps would think better.

market balance would be quite a result though in this turmoil. If seg only hold their own they'll be an outperformer and I reckon with the ft et al likely to be crowing about how right they were to tip them they'll get some decent press at least.
Lets hope they do get another bidder now that'd help with the xmas pressies.lol

Would Infogames not be a rival for any TW bid?

problem is they will probably maintain market balance so no upward move in this market UNLESS a competitor appears : (

i would guess TW will hoover up all the sellers from now on - i dont think the big holders will let go at market price : )

its saying to me, there is a overhang of shares, and we need a buyer, to support the share price, TW have plenty of cash, so they are the white knight.

loc: I think TW were willing but restricted. I think RBS would be a willing seller and probably DB too. Such sizable holdings require and RNS. We will see!
