Wanderer, it is too easy to say it is AIM, that is an easy excuse to hide behind. There is absolutely no excuse for Goodfellow's performance and treatment of PI's over a period of 5 years and the BOD has to be held to account for supporting him and awarding him and Durrant a 20% pay rise when some Investors have seen an 80% decrease in the value of their investment.

I feel your pain Balerno, but this is AIM and akin to betting on 500/1 shots at the horses. Not many come home as winners, you need to lay the odds these days

Balerno, I think you'll find Goodfellow has not done the honourable thing for 5 years.
If he had any honour he would go, totally untrustworthy, no integrity, no credibility , has left Investors out of pocket for 5 years and couldn't give a sh&$e.

Timbo, that's all very interesting, did Goodfellow give any indication when Investors that bought shares after his Frankfurt masterpiece might get there money back or did he say he couldn't give a sh£$%

Timbo - interesting questions and thanks for asking about the SCIB1 yield and modi1 manufacture.

Bermuda, no I am not Balerno but it is good to see another Investor that is starting to question Goodfellow. If he doesn't come up with something transformational by the AGM he is going to come under intense pressure from Investors. You can only bluff and spin for so long, he has well and truly been found out.

The slide set for last night’s Scancell presentation at Proactiveinvestor is here:

See below my notes from a post meeting chat with RG and other investors, I did not take notes during the conversation and the notes below are definitely not a verbatim account

Q: Is SCIB1 manufacture complete, are you happy with the yield, are you confident that it will remain stable for the duration of the combo study, how long does it take to make and release and how much does it cost for a decent sized batch?

A: Yes, yes and yes, manufacture and release takes around 6 months at a cost of around £1.5m

Q: Will you use the same contract manufacturer (Eurogentec) for Modi1?

A: Unlikely, as they are probably not the best contractor to manufacture peptides

Q: How big are the three peptides in Modi1? And is the adjuvant actually bound to the peptides?

A: They are around 20 amino acid units, I cannot say much about the adjuvant accept that it is associated with all three peptides.

Q: Do you have an assignable cause for SCIB1 going out of spec at the end of the last study?

A: We think so, the batch used for the last study was quite old at the end of the study, it is not that unusual for pharmaceuticals to go out of spec after that length of time.

Q: Are you still going to use the Ichor Trigrid device for the SCIB2 study, it looks intimidating and it’s painful for patients (It has been described before as gruesome), do you have to deliver to muscle tissue, couldn’t you fit the patient with a blood line and then insert an in line electrophoresis device so the electrophoresis could occur outside of the body (painlessly) before being returned to the patient via the line?

A: The Ichor device has been improved recently, we have to administer the SCIB formulations by electrophoresis. Our data shows that delivery to muscle cells should give the best results.

Q: So will you be using Ichor for the SCIB2 study?

A: No final decision has been taken

Q: Tell us more about the adjuvant you are going to use with Modi, if I dug deep would I be able to find out anything about it?

A: I cannot say anything more now, we may be able to say something about it in Q3 (Post meeting note: they haven’t filed anything at the UK IPO, so it looks as if there are no unpublished patent applications in the system, see link: )

Q: The last three years has seen a steady decline in the share price, if you could go back in time 3 – 4 years, what would you do differently?

A: I would have raised £30m all in one go, rather than plan to do it incrementally. We have taken a rather unusual route for a small pharma with regard to funding. In the formative years we were funded through Business Angels and High net Worths and didn’t get VC type investors involved early on (VCs as opposed to VCTs), perhaps we should have spoken to them earlier.

Q: I assume you have talked to the likes of Neil Woodford and Chris Evans in the past regarding funding. Woodford in particular has invested in all sorts of dross (Oxford Pharma Science, E-therapeutics and Vernalis to name a few), even a first year pharmacy student would have realized that Oxford Pharmascience was a no hoper after just a few hours research. Any thoughts?

A: Some of RGs comments are not publishable, but he certainly didn’t challenge my assertions on some of NW’s portfolio and seemed as puzzled as I am regarding NW’s preference for some of his dogs over other better risk reward propositions such as Scancell.

Q: It sounds as if the funding for the SCIB2 study more or less sorted out with Addario Foundation?

A: We are talking with AF, but nothing has been agreed at this stage.

Q: Earlier you told us that there were two new investors in the last round, L&G plus one A N other, why is the other investor so secretive? Have you spoken to them in the past about funding?

A: I don’t know the reason why they do not wish to be named, their holding is just under the disclosable level (5%?), they were not shareholders before the last placing, although we had talked to them before (as you do) on a number of previous occasions.

Q: When and where will you have this year’s AGM?

A: The AGM will probably in Oxford again during October

panama - it's not Scancell's decision to make. If it's below disclosure threshold, Scancell can't go around announcing to the public who has been investing in their stock.

boom, what could possibly be the reason for non disclosure of the other so called major investor when at best they would have only invested 1 million, it's hardly a huge investment.

There goes a 100k sell @ 11p, its going to tick down again. Interesting take over on Planet Pluto about the not at liberty to discuss the new investor. The market always knows best, not disillusioned punters.

I'd like to add, that if you hold any amount of shares that are not in a ISA wrapper, you cannot transfer them into your ISA. You must sell the shares and then buy them back under your ISA account. Well at least that what I've got to do with Lloyds but probably another scam for a dealing charge, they do let you buy them back for same price of sale though which is very charitable of them

Going by the number of buys so far one can assume there was nothing in Goodfellow's presentation to get excited about in the near future. Although he is yet to admit it and states everything is on track I bet there is no way the combi trial will start this year.

Timbo-Botski, thank you .One or two interesting titbits, sounds like the audience may have been a rich source of candidates for the SCIB2 trial!Look forward to your notes later.
