08/6/2016 10:59 | Hi Dirty,On reflection maybe I should have suggested Sticky Customers.Otherwise the share price action is useful although on low volumes. I am looking forward to seeing more about the two smaller French acquisitions. I suppose we are talking a Brexin share here, though a weaker pound may not be such a bad thing. Mainland EU government subsidies ultimately flowing to a Brexit UK company doesn't sound too sustainable? In the link the other day, the remoteness of rural Ireland looked ripe for satellite. IIRC SAT made an acquisition there last year?Cheers, tightfist | tightfist

07/6/2016 07:04 | Avanti could also survive and make shareholders a mint having gained some notable customers recently. But not without risk. | weatherman
04/6/2016 00:24 | Should say I have no reason to think it will but I know there are individuals shorting it with some strong views. | hydrus
04/6/2016 00:21 | Any thoughts on the impact on Sat if Avanti fails and goes bust? The share price there has been in free fall for some time. | hydrus
31/5/2016 12:05 | This is quite a sharp turnaround from early Friday morning. Possibly the seller has finished but such a sharp and fast re-bound is not usual I don't think. Maybe something is afoot and it's not 12" !!!!! | joesoap3
28/5/2016 11:57 | I would think you're right geoff. Lets hope for more of the same next week. | two acres
27/5/2016 15:36 | Maybe a seller has been cleared.....hence the rise today. | geoffmanana
26/5/2016 12:09 | £63k sell just gone through. | geoffmanana
20/5/2016 11:48 | Absolutely, something is going behind the scenes. I have to say the price drop hasn't worried me, more puzzled me. It was such a low number of shares sold but quite an impact. Still this is a 2017 investment and at very early stages. Once they reach their 100000 target and more then it will be a well worthy investment. Have a good day | matis0906
20/5/2016 11:32 | Hi Matis, Thanks for the link. I cannot read it all but the emphasis on Rural Areas appears very supportive of satellite technology (what other technology is commercially viable in really remote areas?) and hence SAT. Hopefully we will see more Government Marketing spend to increase satellite technology awareness, alongside organic word-of-mouth. I see that BT have released "BT lays out plans for future of broadband", but almost totally focussed on retaining Openreach and investing in ultrafast capacity: hXXp://avonlinebroad Not a hint about satellite, despite the deal with SAT announced on 11th January - one wonders what games are being played.... Cheers, tightfist | tightfist
20/5/2016 10:00 | hxxp://www.thetimes. Britons will have a legal right to fast broadband under plans to bring rural areas and unconnected households into the 21st century. A law enshrining the right to broadband will mean that up to a million people in rural areas, who have long suffered terrible coverage, can demand a better service. It brings internet connectivity into line with the right to get electricity, telephone and postal services. | matis0906
19/5/2016 22:24 | dirty75 Thank you so much. I will study these references with interest. | varies
19/5/2016 12:28 | Varies - those should keep you busy researching. Also peace of mind speed and signal will improve. | dirty75

19/5/2016 11:53 | But is a slight interruption, which I can assure many people get from bt, not better than no broadband at all. | matis0906
19/5/2016 11:03 | dirty75 I do hope you are right in saying that the govt's plans are brilliant for SAT. I live in mid-Shropshire and have access to internet provided by SAT. It is, on the whole, very good and reliable but it seems to be subject to atmospheric interference. I watched an episode of House of Cards on Netflix on Sunday and this was interrupted 6 times for periods of up to 2 minutes. Given the enormous cost that would be incurred in laying fibre cables all over the countryside, transmission from a satellite seems the only plausible solution but I doubt if the quality will ever be as good. | varies
19/5/2016 08:19 | This is brilliant for SAT. Government backed guarantees and schemes, lets hope they UK government take a leaf from the Welsh assembly book on how to roll this out and make it as easy as possible for users to connect. | dirty75
19/5/2016 07:34 | Following the Queen's Speech Wednesday, the government said it would introduce a Digital Economy Bill that would codify in law Cameron's promise of a universal right to broadband of at least 10 megabits per second. It estimated that this would enable 1 million British households that might otherwise be left without connections to access fast broadband. It said that those living in extremely remote areas might be expected to contribute to the cost of installing connectivity. | hutch_pod |
