The list of companies released by the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation for the 2017/2018 crude oil trade includes firms indicted and some facing criminal charges for fuel subsidy fraud, PREMIUM TIMES can report.
The oil subsidy regime between 2009 – 2011 recorded one of the most monumental cases of fraud in Nigeria’s history, with the government paying importers subsidy for 59 million litres of fuel per day, while the country actually consumed about 35 million litres.
In 2011, Nigeria spent N2.5 trillion on fuel subsidy, a 900 percent increase from the N245 billion in the year’s budget.
More than 30 companies were indicted after investigations were launched, and several of them are still facing criminal charges in Nigerian courts for making hugely inflated subsidy claims.

The Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) has declared a nationwide strike beginning from today. The strike which will affect the flow of petrol to filling stations, has shut down seven crude flow stations in the Niger Delta, a union official said on Wednesday. The strike is in protest over pay and job losses. NUPENG is one of several labour unions that have criticised oil companies for sacking workers in the last few months. “Filling stations, petrol tankers and all NUPENG members are involved,” Cogent Ojobo, NUPENG’s Warri zonal chairman, said. The union said the strike would last for three days and involve around 10,000 workers. Ojobo said union officials would hold talks with the labour minister in the capital, Abuja, later on Wednesday. “If the issues at stake are resolved and a communique signed, the strike would be called off,” he said. He also said workers had gone on strike at seven crude oil flow stations in and around Oleh, a town in Delta state, which is in the Niger Delta. “Seven flow stations belonging to NPDC were shut by the workers and they are still shut now,” Ojobo said. He also said the workers, who are employed by contractors, say they have not been paid. The flow stations were shut on Tuesday. The Labour ministry spokesman was not immediately available to comment. Nigeria has been hit hard by a slump in crude oil prices in the past two years, which helped to push the country into recession. A wave of militant attacks in the southern Niger Delta oil hub throughout 2016 has hampered production.

Hi Tripe, how much do you need to ramp it up to so you can sell at break - even? If Tosca wanted to take it private what would a suitable price be? 75p looks a pretty decent and fair offer, but doubt it would like to up-bid above 60p. Would it make you happy?

Taken from lse BBAgree SJ, they are trolls who know their time is short!, how can a shareholder post positive sentiment about the company they are invested in without being reported to FCA it's absolute balls. But what is more sinister is for non holders with an agenda against sle and it's shareholders is for them to be assumed reported to the FCA and openly posted by boohoo7/Sid that they are looking to actively pay to find said shareholders. It really should open posters eyes to the extent of their lies, misleading posts and why are they actively carrying this out in the first place!!. Sore losers I say, very very heavily in debt sore losers, as why else carry on this tirade against sle, if you feel that bad against a company you have years to sell( if you held any stock!). They are the real posters who want reporting to FCA etc.
