15/1/2015 12:23 | That's it humphries1 Right from the beginning it 'made it clear' that it wasn't going to be an overnight long. ...and those 'free' shares due soon will make the holding more worthwhile... | optomistic
15/1/2015 11:25 | i am still in see how things go over next 2 years | humphries1
15/1/2015 08:37 | diku, I think many of the original holders have sold out (too early IMO) I think these points will be of interest to the few that are left: "Trading Update for 2014/15 Preliminary Results · Trading is in line with market expectations. · The dividend for 2014/15 is anticipated to be at the top end of the targeted 40-50% pay-out range, highlighting our progressive dividend policy. · The Group will seek to maximise returns for investors by optimising the balance between investment, dividends and debt reduction. · Allied will no longer be presented as part of the continuing operations and will give rise to a one-off write-down of goodwill and potentially other related balance sheet items, the amount of which will be determined over the coming months." | optomistic
15/1/2015 08:31 | Where is everybody?... | diku
14/1/2015 21:38 | Update tomorrow: "We look forward to updating the market further on our business model and decisions we have made in regard to our long-term strategy at our Capital Markets Day on 15 January 2015." | optomistic
09/1/2015 10:53 | AA and RAC both offer better terms to new customers than to existing ones. Including one-off cashback or voucher deals not available to existing clients. So presumably worth switching back and forth in alternate years? Who do Saga actually use for their breakdown recovery work? I know of two Saga clients, both made callouts - in one case it was an AA van that came, in the other it was a private garage truck. | m.t.glass
09/1/2015 10:20 | Tried that with AA against lots of others, they halved the renewal quote, but still couldn't compete. I finished up with Kwikfit, to include European cover, for a lot less than UK only, with the others. As you suggest,AA & Saga both rely on blind renewals by non-internet savvy pensioners. Long may it continue though, otherwise our share prices won't rise ! | monkeywrench
08/1/2015 16:28 | I've played Saga v AA both ways. 2013 gave up on Saga for free assist and £80 savings with AA since Saga wouldn't match it 2014 got good quote (better than AA) with Saga ; went back and talked to AA who improved on it. Quids in! I'll do the same this year. They're all rogues. Play them against each other. Or be a passive mug! | 242cox
05/1/2015 12:31 | Just left the AA after 24 years for the same reason. | monkeywrench
05/1/2015 11:43 | Just got my saga renewal notice, dreadful, dreadful. £146 dearer than 2 other insurers I rang. been a saga customer for 7 years. I rang saga and gave them all the details including names of other insurers, in the hope they may match the quotes, no chance. Now an ex customer of Saga. | stephan1946
23/12/2014 09:25 | Iaincc Following your last paragraph sure SAGA will be on a winner with their retirement village so much they will expand, when we came back from abroad lived in an upmarket one for 2 years on a long lease with yearly increases charges The only winner here was the freeholder | old crow
22/12/2014 11:12 | 168p to 150p looks like an 11% drop so 123qwer is not much of a mathematician ! Maybe not much of a deramper either ? With a growing older population this is a solid long term business run by a fairly inept management, I'm just waiting for some smart folks to take this over a la Resolution/Friends | iaincc
21/12/2014 16:18 | monty still posting rubbish The Crows bought in at at 152p x 8383 x 2 next day up to 160p that's a nice profit for a pensioner. Don't expect a comment from monty. | old crow
17/12/2014 19:23 | Cant see anything that will tempt me to buy t these prices ATB DYOR | 123qwer
08/12/2014 16:04 | Testing that 148.4p floor (Oct 27). If that goes, there's no support levels left. | m.t.glass
02/12/2014 09:52 | Looks like all the pensioners been shafted in this bow wow stock.118p forecast. | montyhedge
01/12/2014 10:23 | Still going down I see. When is this going to stabilise and start moving back up? | daisymax1
07/11/2014 12:26 | Mug Britain, paying out to all those 'crash for cash' and 'accident claim' con merchants run by foreigners. Sort touch. | mikemichael2
07/11/2014 09:43 | Car insurance companys take a big hit this week, must reflect on saga share price | farmsted
05/11/2014 11:27 | just had renewal notice from saga for car ins it is cheaper this year nice if they would drop the price every year | humphries1
04/11/2014 09:33 | So when is it all going to end? | daisymax1
29/10/2014 22:15 | JP Morgan did report earlier this month and still remains neutral with a target price of 185p, so with a price rise of 8.5p today as buying returned hopefully a push back to the float price | fishman2
28/10/2014 10:54 | i am waiting for the free shares humph | humphries1
28/10/2014 08:46 | Well this is one way to donate half your investment in this to those on huge bonuses and who have millions. An awful lot of trusting OAP's on pensions caught in this too. Just shameful! GLA | tedoby2 |
