Wow -down it goes below 10p. Hope the management has some ideas on how to address this -the AGM is on 9th June. The record though is dismal so maybe not.

They are out. Trying to make the best of a bad job. But seems sensible approach to a big range of issues.

Still hold here from much higher up unfortunately...

Prelim Financials are overdue now I think?

I'm no expert on this but I think that a large part of the pricing was based on the proven reserves under the field. What was, now obviously, underestimated was the difficulty in getting it out. The barrels of oil per day is still a lot less than the original estimates. Also, unlike many other companies that go through difficult times RPO management are not making effective statements on the current and near future state of play. You just have to look at some of the presentations given by Tullow Oil (TLW) to see how little information is put out by this company.

Yes those are very pertinent questions. Think you are right and also the sponsor was a top name outfit. So you can surmise that this was a scam/fraud -probably not;
everything that could go wrong did go wrong;
the original estimates were simply fantasy numbers.
Maybe a bit of all three.
From my perspective -and I rather lost interest here -the complicating factors were the bizarre ownership structure plus being under capitalised.
Rubbish like this should not be listed -but you live and learn.
As it happens I've made a load on Evraz so nothing against Russian companies per se.

When Ruspetro first floated, the clearly optimistic bopd targets must have been based on something tangible to warrant the offering price. Wasn't this IPO 2.45? I got my fingers burned when I brought in at 1.45 but sold out after losing 15%. And almost brought back in when it fell under a pound. Luckily I never. What's happened since has been very unexpected based on initial broker forecasts. How has it gone so wrong. How were forecasts so wide of the mark? I'm baffled.

Agree with what you have written. It could turn out to be a rewarding investment.
Oil prices and the geo-political situation not helping. After buying some of this higher up I told myself some months ago never to touch another Russkie (I had really been hoping for another Imperial which got sold to the Indians). Anyway the best laid plans and all that -I bt a load of Evraz at circa 75p so that's helping.
I am looking at quite a few really bad stories on holdings -guess that's life in the investment game. Be interested to hear any great ideas -maybe Nanoco, LPA Trifast, and Hayward Tyler.

Of course i didn't just buy into a russian oil company without knowing the risk. i wouldn't touch it if the share price was much higher.... but i would as a long term play if they weren't in such a wonky position financially. I bought small here for the short term as the technicals are calling for a sweet 50% rise. Once sold i will keep on my monitor and if their debt/repayments get sorted then i will buy a large stake for the long term. This a huge company that is progressing through it's goals so its worth fishing here imo. This is measly cheap and worth the risk/reward.

I have spent a lot of time selecting but a handful of shares that are looking good now and now only! There aren't many stocks out there worth throwing your money on(debt or cash rich)....if you know one please tell!! lol. My monitor looks disastrous and even the solid ones are joining the casino effect.
good luck with your choices as you will truly need some

Coj -hope it works out. you think you have bt into a Russian oil company but the story is really about debt and financing! It may get sorted or it may not.

The company would have to warn that there are risks and its standard for most companies to let the market know that where there is debt, there is risk. This is why the share price has landed where it has.
That snippet you posted though does not portray the statement at all as a whole. The majority of the statement actually reads positive to me. I have only bought in recently but out of many stocks worth bottom fishing, this is one!
Good luck whichever way you tack

Some movement north on share price this afternoon. Any good news out there or are market makers raising price to encourage profit taking and release more shares in preparation for a big buy ?

Why would anyone buy after this:???Management considers that these circumstances represent a material uncertainty that may cast doubt on the Group's ability to continue as a going concern, and we have described these risks in these financial statements as a material uncertainty.

Interims today.

Funding desperately needed short term (assuming further successful well production ahead).

What form might that take? Placing? Debt? Also a restructure of balance sheet.

Debt for equity possibility?

Russia may axe Gazprom pipeline monopoly

hxxp://rt.com/business/174960-gazprom-pipeline-export-monopoly/

Gazprom may lose its gas export via pipeline monopoly after Russian President Vladimir Putin asked the government to consider allowing other producers to get a piece of the burgeoning Asia export market.

Russian producers other than Gazprom, such as state-owned Rosneft, independent Novatek and Surgutneftegaz, would have the right to export pipeline gas from new fields in Eastern Siberia and the Far East, as well as be involved in the construction of gas transport systems in the region, Vedomosti reports.

Russian lawmakers have until September 1 to make a final decision on the proposed change, which would open up business to Russia's other natural gas producers and transporters.

Domestic oil and gas companies have lobbied the Kremlin for a long time to loosen Gazprom's monopoly status, and now they might be able to get involved with pipeline projects to China.

it is under sanctions although it has nothing to do with it as the EU scared to death of Russia cutting the supply.Same applies for many other Russian companies, as the market kseems applying sanctions on them :)

For a stock that seems to have started a little upward recovery, though caution needed as I expressed above, it does seem awfully quiet here.

What about this from 15th MAY 2014, what options do they have here?

"The Company's total outstanding debt as at 30 April 2014 was US$414.4 million. This includes the Sberbank credit of US$321.8 million, and shareholder loans from Makayla Investments Limited and Limolines Transport Limited of US$21.8 million and US$70.8 million respectively."

"The Company continues to explore balance sheet restructuring and financing options."

It won't be director buys as they can't buy when price sensitive information (drill results of the first fracked well) only days away. I've been watching this share for a while and decided to take a punt at 13.5p. Not bothered about the slight drops as when this moves it moves fast. Anyone with views on what the BOPD rate for the new fracked well will be?

last time such huge volume traded an announcement of a massive director buy, wouldn't' be surprised if it is happening now. if so then it could repeat the move from 13p to 45p as early last year.it is massively oversold and ready for reaction time.
