26/12/2014 10:15 | RBC or RPC - and how many sherrys? | dr_smith
25/12/2014 16:25 | From christmas eve.. 24th dec RBC Capital 'outperform' tp 594p | philanderer
24/12/2014 15:53 | Yes, it is a bit disappointing. I already had a substantial holding but acquired a shedload more at 583 to increase my exposure to the Rights Issue. The latest shares will have an effective cost of 517.25 post-Rights and I could have gone out and bought them in the market today at 506! Doh! Never mind, I've already taken up my Rights for all my shares, including the original holding bought at 175 and a previous Rights at 143, and I expect the price to rebound sharply on completion of the Issue. | jeffian
24/12/2014 14:48 | Yep that`s quite a drop to 506p from last friday`s close of 543.5p. | philanderer
24/12/2014 14:24 | Post shuffle max - last week was 540 to 550. I am also in for long term but haven't decided yet on rights issue. I'm not aware of any intrinsic value lost/gained by taking, but for long term holder may be better to buy into them when other portfolio dealings make it convenient, not having to stump up money at time dictated by the company - and a silly time really, xmas, if expecting funds from private investor. | dr_smith
24/12/2014 13:44 | I don't see 543p. Where's that from? | ed 123
24/12/2014 13:40 | Surely a re-trace of the share price was inevitable in this gap period? Not many would be buying now @ 543. I am taking the rights issue for a long term investment not a quick buck. | barlick
23/12/2014 14:52 | Relentless selling now . Down from 543p bid last friday close and looking like sub 500p. Getting nearer the point where I`ll not be bothering to take up the rights. Big volume again.... 400k on both the ord and nil paid Hugely disappointing. | philanderer
23/12/2014 13:39 | DR, I`ve done the sums slightly differently but the same conclusion 3 shares @ 584p = £17.52p 1 new share @320p = £3.20p ==================== Total = £20.72p divided by 4 shares = 518p So from the current 510p we`re looking at a 1.5% drop. Shareprice very disappointing this week. | philanderer
23/12/2014 12:38 | I have just rec'd me rights advice to action. The link, after saying UK based, UK resident, takes me to: hxxp://www.rpc-group but the links to view document don't go anywhere. Anyone else had like problems? I see my nil paid rights have already been credited to my online a/c with a value (even though I haven't paid anything yet) of just under £2 per Nil paid share - which ties in with £5.10 market price fullypaid, less £3.20 call price. Some quick calculations to try and make sense of the juggling: Old share price circa £5.84 Say 3 shares held, = £17.52 Current share price £5.10 * 3 = £15.30 1 nil paid share = (£5.10-3.20) = £1.90 Total current value = £17.20 Single share value = £5.73 So... by my reckoning the share price has dropped circa 11p or 2% since the share juggling commenced. Personally, as to whether rights are taken up, I don't believe there is anything to be gained or lost in the transaction, it is purely a decision of whether you want to put more money into them for the longer term without broker fees and stamp duty. Fair comment? | dr_smith
23/12/2014 12:20 | If I`ve read the RNS correctly AXA taking up their rights in full , now holding 12%+ | philanderer
22/12/2014 13:00 | Big volume today.. nil paid -8% with 600k traded ord - 2.5% with 700k traded edit: nil paid ending -13% ord - 3% 1 million of each traded. ... institutions rebalancing their portfolios maybe ? | philanderer
20/12/2014 16:56 | Thanks jeffian ....... your comments are noted. | ygor706
20/12/2014 12:51 | ygor706, Yes, RPC should benefit from lower oil and energy costs but it has an unusual relationship with its customers in that, because their products are effectively purpose-designed for their customers, they are able to pass on cost increases and (I believe) also reductions. Of course, there is a time lag so increased costs will squeeze margins until price increases work through while lower input costs will increase margins - but only for a period until their own charges to their customers are adjusted. This statement from March 2013 explains how it works - "Polymer price variations are generally passed on to the customer base albeit with a time lag. This time lag effect had a negative overall impact on operating profit in 2012/13 whereas it was beneficial in the previous financial year." The lower oil and energy prices will certainly be beneficial to RPC in the short term but over the longer term it's 'swings and roundabouts'. | jeffian
20/12/2014 12:31 | Just come across this company in my search for plastics' and chemicals' businesses that might benefit from a tanking oil price. The market hasn't really picked up on this yet because the benefits will be deferred by forward hedging by the companies concerned. Nevertheless the cost reductions will flow through at some stage. I'm impressed by the strength of both the balance sheet and the cash flow here. The recent acquisition is just icing on the cake as far as I am concerned and I will be looking to include this company in my end 2014 share revisions list. | ygor706
19/12/2014 09:22 | Selftrade a day behind HL , all up and working nicely this morning with the nil paid :-) | philanderer
18/12/2014 13:51 | Nice one :-) No such luck with my guys . RPCN seems to be giving the price on most of the usual sites | philanderer
18/12/2014 13:40 | HL applied the Nil Paids to my account at 8am and give me real time prices on the portfolio. 8-) | jeffian
18/12/2014 13:22 | Going really well today. I`m getting a quote with Selftrade on the nil paid using 'RPC GROUP I14 NP' 232p a few minutes ago. | philanderer
18/12/2014 09:27 | Panmure raises target to 828p - retains 'buy' | philanderer
17/12/2014 20:30 | Agreed, no notification for me either. Will take up the rights in full though . | philanderer
17/12/2014 17:52 | I'm ready to take up all my Rights in full. Having seen the results of today's meeting on RNS, it struck me that Hargreaves Lansdown (and I assume other nominee brokers are the same) didn't think it appropriate to notify me of the meeting or invite me to vote. I know I could have contacted them and arranged it, but they charge £10 for the privilege! It's hardly conducive to shareholder involvement is it? With modern technology, there has to be a way to allow nominee shareholders to exercise their rights, surely? | jeffian
17/12/2014 17:41 | Dealings in the nil-paid 8am tomorrow. | philanderer
12/12/2014 16:59 | Thanks, jeffian. I've got it. I failed to scroll through to the end. Sheer impatience on my part! | godwin2 |
