Or are they just all going to Lidl and Aldi because so many people are skint?

Exotic That's interesting, I dabble a bit on ebay and have noticed the same thing, thought it was just me!

If it's anything to go by, my online Christmas sales are down massively this year. They started in November, peaked around Black Friday, then dramatically dropped off a cliff. The first 10 days of November had 400% more sales than the first 10 days of December.

I'm hoping there's two types of shoppers: (1) Those who are organised and buy early and during Black Friday, and (2) those who leave it to the last minute. Will have to wait and see if type 2 appears later, but so far this is a very disappointing Christmas.

There's no sign of any severe weather in the run up to Christmas that would affect mail delivery. Fuel costs for transport are much lower now so this should be good news for RMG.

Tonio: Yes online shopping is booming. I am surprised by Ubs note on Royal mail saying revenue growth sluggish.

Just checked tracking on parcel due today from parcelpost, it has been put on van from local depot for delivery. There was this message:
'Another very busy night of high volumes that we have received and successfully processed. All our drivers are out collecting and delivering as normal today.'
Generalising from the particular I know, but it doesn't sound like bad news for RMG.

Well done guys. I am still not convinced by any growth story here, that is why I prefer other shares. But well done, cash some in for Christmas.

Maybe RMG, like BT, is droning on to the £5 level. Perhaps the humming sound is generated by the contented shareholders.

LOL

Amazon is going to get you......

Where is the entrepreneurialism at RMG?

If they are going to compete they are going to have to invest in this type of new technology IF it happens. I do, to be fair, have my doubts.

I'd love to see the same advert on a windy, wet and blustery day like yesterday. LOL

Oh dear! Has the great man really fallen so far? I don't know how he managed to keep a straight face. Well if it works for Amazon it'll work for RMG but, were those really rotating blades I saw on that device? Maybe for an extra charge it will trim the lawn - sorry 'landing zone'- as well, not to mention your finger nails.

A good week, shucks it's a good few years that interests me. Like all privatisations the overhang of public ownership takes a good while to slough off - for RMG, which has only just been fully released, it's still well in progress.I imagine it'll all evolve to some sort of merger very long term but it'll be interesting to see.
Can't say I love our postman, but he and his mates have never let us down. Of course, I'm really waiting for the 'Back to the future' moment when he/she/it together with techno-pram float by on gravity-neutralising skateboards and flip off our parcels to the garden robot!
